Seems to be slow as hell

This is fun, but less fun than waiting in line for a new iPhone. :D

Doesn't anyone have a story to tell?

Watch out if you are using the upgrade page. It generated a redemption code for me, but after entering the code (contained in a password protected pdf) the appstore failed and immediately told me that the code was already used and could not be used again.

I've already tried to contact apple support, hopefully hear back something positive soon.

So 2002. If only we could have Wing Commander again on 25 3.5" floppy disks. That'd be great. :D

Fancy software boxes will always be welcome. Apple is all about image and packaging. It's a shame they don't do packaging for software anymore. I know it's not necessary, but I always enjoyed it.

This is why you should still be able to buy a copy from the store, on a disk. The UK always gets shafted by Apple in some way or another, and it's waring very thin.

any idea of how long it takes to be sent the codes usually ?

Took only minutes for me.

As for form errors, they went away when I switched from Chrome to Safari, but that could be a coincidence. Data point of just one.

edit: Now I'm hitting the app store errors for code not recognized.

error

same here in India: "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)"

Can anyone who's d/led and installed see any differences between this and the GM?

Chances are if they downloaded the GM from certain sources (and were not developers) they probably haven't bothered downloading it officially from the store yet and are waiting for other people to comment on the build number, which means nothing as there are often differences in retail build number and the GM......

Anyone care to put me out of my misery and tell me what my country/area code is? The final hurdle before i can actually redeem the code it would appear.

halfway done over here in the U.S!

Started my Download in New York about 9:15am

My download seems to be going OK! I have about 1.47 downloaded already and it says there is about 26 minutes left to finish the download. The time left keeps fluctuating though. Right after I download I will be making a USB Key and then upgrade my Mid 2011 21.5" iMac! Cant wait!! If it seems to go slow or something after my upgrade I will just use the USB Key to do a clean install. We shall see!

I had the same issue ... just used all zeros ... used the format they showed.

Question...

Entered all the information for my upgrade program.

At the end, I got a claim code. However, I thought this is just a receipt of the form and that Apple would get back to me further.

Is that code actually a redemption code?

How do I apply it to App Store purchase?

Sorry if this has already been discussed. So many pages of content here.

uptodate

Entered uptodate program around 35min ago (received claim reference number on the site) and still waiting for their email to arrive...isnt this taking little too long?

The app store code is send through email once they confirm your purchase date et all ... The code you have is just a reference code as far as I understand.
