At least. Given how iOS 8 has so far very annoyingly slowed down my iPad2 and iPhone 4s (yes, I'm an idiot for installing it), I'm going to wait awhile for others to sport on Yosemite's effect on older hardware such as my 2007/8 iMac 7,1, which pretty much flies with Mavericks and the SSD I installed.

Why don't you make a partition and try it out for yourself. If you don't like it then simply delete the partition. This is what i am going to do.

How ironic.... and you're following this thread (to page 15 or whatever because.....?)

I know... XD I am just having a little party at my place celebrating how many people are actually just sitting in front of their MacBooks waiting for this update... and yes I am one of them... :apple:<3

So do we have to download the full installer or will there be an incremental update from the beta?

if you click on download in the app store and you have 10.10 installed you get a message telling you 10.10 is installed and you should install the update. you can still download the full installer.

I will say this, I have PB6 installed and so far it seems really stable for me. I love it. I have a feeling the Public Release will be just as good, but JIC I have my PB4 and Mavericks 10.9.5 installers on thumb drives ready to go in necessary.

Might be but its named after the National Park here in California.

An important national park with Capital Letters at the beginning!

I was just thinking of the "major phonological correspondence" that always occurred to me when I saw the word.

Yosemite, and Yose might not I guess.

Wish I could actually download it ..

This is pure gold from CNET! :D

Yeah, it's live now, but download is kinda slow, only 50Mbps..

EDIT: Nevermind, back to 100Mbps.

People putting it out are probably reading the forums all over the place and laughing at all of us. HA let's make them THINK they can DL it now, ok ok let 1 person DL it so they can' post a picture then pull it REALLY fast.

Is downgrading really a good idea after upgrading? I heard usually that creates problems.

There is no downgrade option in any package from Apple.

If you want Mavericks after installing Yosemite, you should either restore from a backup of Mavericks (overwriting all of Yosemite); or perform a clean installation of Mavericks (erasing all of Yosemite before the installation).
