So if Iwork is free, why does the app store say I need to buy it?. Will that change after I install Yosemite?
I have the install file.
When I click on it it'll upgrade my OS.
How can I do a clean fresh install?
Can anyone who installed tell me if my stuff like music, pictures and so on will be erased like IOS 8 did?
You could use "Alt + Click Green" that does the normal maximise function.
Continuity is working for me just fine. The only thing that's not working for me is SMS with iMessage. Gonna look into it now and see if I missed a setting somewhere.
I'll download... but damn its ugly. Most ugly OS I've seen since XP.
My MacBook Pro is beautiful on Snow Leopard. Boots super fast even when running from an external USB hard drive. Mavericks, however, takes forever to start, is quite sluggish when first getting to the desktop... Every version of OS X has gotten slower. I don't have the most recent hardware, that's true. Still... I also don't have the most recent iPhone, so I have no ability to use all this extra interoperability between OS X and my phone. It's a waste of resources.
As the previous quote states, I am not the only one. Granted this is not the latest machine I'm running it on, but its SSD + 4GB RAM upgrade should have done the job decently. And yet it doesn't. Surprisingly and against Genius recommendation I didn't stop to Snow Leopard on this one, I ran Mountain Lion before, and it was not snappy but very fast, even comfortable. Even Mavericks, which I ran briefly, was OK. But not Yosemite. Maybe because of the invasion of useless visual effects? I sent one feedback about WindowServer process always using a high amount of CPU, even on an idling machine. Turns out it must be caused by those effects. At the very least, they should be toned down for older machines. You gotta be doing something wrong. I've been running Yosemite on a 2013 15" rMBP since August, no noticeable problems.
You forgot to add that iMessage setup still isn't clear. I made an experiment with a friend who has an iPhone 5C, she told me she saw two conversations, not one.4. SMS does not work. Can't send or receive.
Maybe some weren't as thorough as I was, but I sent at least 70 feedbacks detailing malfunctions. It's not our fault Apple chose to ignore those before hasty release. All you who were involved with beta-testing are FAILS.
