Is it just me this whole Flat look is just too FLAT?

I’ve the Yosemite DPs installed for several weeks now and, believe me, you’ll get accustomed to the “flat design” rather quickly. When I look at my other Mac with Mavericks installed, it looks like something from the 1990s, with these clownish 3D-like buttons….

I'm using the Yosemite Beta 5 tester and the App store is saying to wait for an update, So I'm assuming the fifth Beta tester is also the GM?

Thanks for a ton of new software and features!

Thanks to Apple for a ton of new software and features! I can make calls from my Mac now! Yeah!

I'm updated and everything seems to be running fine. My only issue is my iPhone won't connect over Bluetooth to my MacBook. It drops the connection every time. Otherwise it's doing well. Seems like a bit of a memory hog though.

What version MacBook do you have because same issue here on iMac but my iMac is mid-2011. iMacs Mid-2011 and older bluetooth feature will not work because you need to have bluetooth 4.0.

This like the situation when AirPlay Display was added to the new OS there was many complains not working and the reason was hardware and it is same here. Not sure why Apple does not say for which the iPhone Bluetooth feature it works. with

Lucky you I can't.

Thank you! ;)

You mean you knew about the bluetooth requirements for continuity/handoff, and you're still complaining about it?

Yeah I knew about it and yeah I am complaining about it because I am sick and tired of spending money. Why you worry noob that I am complaining about it.

It's a Mid-2012 MacBook Air, so the feature is supported. For some reason it keep dropping the connection every time I connect. I've rebooted the iPhone and MacBook with no such luck.

No, PB 6 was the last public beta, so there was still another one after yours. PB6 has a different build number than today's release. Download manually from the Mac App Store and install. It won't show up as an update.

"Noob"? lol, just because I may have joined this forum at a later date than you did, doesn't mean I'm a noob. My first computer was a Macintosh in the early/mid 90's, and I've been back and using Mac OS X since 2004.

Guys, what is the wifi Tx rate connection in this final version? Is it stable 1300mbps? In past couple of betas there was an issue with it - dropped to 260 Mbps every other second

Does hotspot have to be enabled on the phone to use the Handoff feature? If so, that explains why my Bluetooth connection drops everytime. Otherwise, I'm at a loss.

Servers seem to still be hammered, on one of my machines it said it would take 10 hours to download. o.o

Reminds me of Smash Bros 3ds on the eShop.

Help!

Trying to download Yosemite, but about 3/4 through the download, I get an error "nsinternalinconsistency exception" What does this mean?!

I had PB6 running on my MBPr (build number ending 388b)

Couldn't see any updates for PB6 users so this morning I just downloaded the whole thing again from the app store. Took 45mins start to finish.

took me about 30 mins tops. great bandwidth here. rMBP

1. No Photo Cloud beta anywhere to be found for OSX or iOS.

2. Phones calls only work for incoming. Can't call out.

3. Incoming phone calls sound like a gopher drowning to the person on the other line.

4. SMS does not work. Can't send or receive.

5. Family Sharing won't work with Pay Pal and there's no Apple Pay option. (really ??)

6. Air Drop still does't work. Also, barely works with iOS devices. Some say it's because I have a dual band router with mixed N and AC clients. Okay. It's an APPLE ROUTER.

All you who were involved with beta-testing are FAILS.

Become a beta tester then and do a better job.

Where can I find this Yo-semitee update everyone keeps going on about, I go to the app sore and all I can find is one for Yosemite!

No, the hotspot is nothing to do with the handoff. My Handoff works perfectly here with no any issues (and no need of hotspot at all)

Ok, done. Started at 2:30pm, and it's all installed and up and running. Downloaded new versions of iWork and iTunes. So far no problems or glitches. iCloud settings says that it's still "setting up" iCloud Drive... been about 10 minutes of that... hopefully nothing to worry about. I do have 2,000+ files on iCloud, so perhaps its just processing all of that.

Anyone else?

edit: Oh yeah: This was on a 2013 Air (13"). Cable internet @ 50mbps. About 40-45mins to download; in California (Monterey bay-area). Build 389.

Did it finish? I've been waiting over 2 hours, still setting up.

Installation Problem

I have a 2013 iMac. The first two times I tried to install, I got an error that the disk couldn't be verified. I'm on my third try and it's been stuck at the very beginning of the installation (18 minutes remaining) for over an hour. Any suggestions?

I'm not thrilled with the changed green button. The only app I use in full screen is Mail, but the zoom button I use all the time. Guess I'll have to get used to resizing windows manually.

You could use "Alt + Click Green" that does the normal maximise function. :D

Got it, all running nicely. Like the design, like the new features, phone works flawlessly. All in all very happy with this costly upgrade :)

Yeah , I after reading this forum did exactly that and runs with no problems, recommend repairing permissions before and after . Wish Apple would have provide some info to all the beta testers on how to proceed once the final version was out, but , that is what I like this forum .:)
