Figured some might find it interesting, and when I first saw images of Yosemite, the dock immediately reminded me of Tiger. Leopard's dock is a bit long in the tooth, so it's interesting that they went back to pre-Leopard's dock. Anyone else notice anything similar between the two?

I'm not sure about the new OS X, all the areas of flat white just seem too harsh on my eyes. Then again I didn't like iOS 7 initially but I've grown to really like it.

I'm glad the 3D dock is gone, I never really cared for it.

I know same dock used in Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar and Panther too.

Yosemite has a dark mode which turns the menu bar, dock, and hopefully toolbars and sidebars dark.

I'm not too fond on the new design. Snow Leopard was the pinnacle of OS X, IMO but Mavericks isn't too bad either.

Tiger is overload on the brushed metal.
Yosemite is overload on the crayons.

I guess the Yosemite dock does resemble the early OS X dock, the main difference being that the Tiger dock is mostly transparent whereas the Yosemite one is only semi-transparent. Meaning in Tiger you can see behind the dock and in Yosemite you see a blurry smudge of what might be behind the dock.

Either way, I prefer the Tiger look.

At first I saw the Yosemite dock and I thought of Tiger's immediately, but then I noticed it was Mavericks side-dock. But it does look much like Tiger's. I figured Yosemite would implement the flat dock again, and time proved it did. :)
A PowerPC Yosemite theme would be nice - the iOX PPC theme just with modified menubar! :D

The first thing I thought of when watching the keynote was 'how hard would it be to get this look on a PowerPC machine'. I'll get Yosemite installed on my Mac Pro, grab the icons and various other resources off it & begin to have a fiddle. I very much doubt I'll be able to achieve the translucent affect in the dock though. However, if anyone knows if this could be possible, give me a shout.

Haha that would be AMAZING dude! This is the first Mac OS I've liked the look of in a while! :D
Just thought I'd tell you I'm loving your iOX theme right now!

I already spoke with AQUADock, the creator of the awesome Mountain Leopard theme. He is interested in doing a Yosemite theme soon!

One other thing I noticed in the dock. Mavericks uses an indicator bar, Yosemite uses a . and Tiger is a triangle.

I think a lot of us looked at the new dock and thought of Mac OS X 10.0-10.4. That's what I sure thought.

To be totally honest I'm not keen on the new design, in the same way I'm still not keen on iOS 7's and Windows 8's new designs. I prefer a "shiny" looking UI, but then again I don't use a computer solely for the way it or its UI looks.

Interesting about the calling thing! And since I have Ten-Ten on here I figured I would post a screenshot. The battery indicator is goofy at 0% but the battery is full.

I haven't decided if I like Yosemite yet, as soon as I decide whether I like the look I will decide if I like the dock. I didn't own Macs when they had tiger so I'm not the biggest fan of that dock, but I feel they did a good job updating the outdated dock

"Apple Re-Releases Power Mac G3 Blue & White Based on the Yosemite Architecture"

Lol. First they will bring back IE for Mac, then Sherlock. Maybe there will be a re-birth for Netscape. :p

Next thing you know, they're bringing back Sherlock. :D

Jokes aside, did you see the new spotlight???

Goes to the centre of the screen now, and searches for your content locally and online with the same interface!

I pointed this out during the presentation.

That is totally Sherlock! :p
