I cannot swipe between face?
I cannot fit all my apps on one face so i have to swipe between faces frequently.
Now i have to hold and change faces?
What a hassle!!!
I agree that it would have been nice to continue to allow us to swipe between faces, but there are certainly simple alternatives to allow you to quickly access additional apps. Swipe up for widgets or press the dial to access your apps (which you can now easily sort to put your favorites on top.)

The watchface swiping doesn't really bother me.
And there are still enough watchfaces that allow for a sufficient number of app complications to be placed.

What REALLY REALLY bothers me is that the double klick on the crown to jump back to the most recently used app got removed (or more difficult and confusing to access).
A very frequently used feature. WTH were they thinking?

change the app view to grid, then re-arrange the icons to have your most used ones at the top - works better (for me) than the most recent ones

The changes forced me to adjust the way i use my watch but it actually makes sense to me. I didn't like it at first but I've gotten used to it.

-put your app view in grid mode and put your most commonly used apps at the top
-use complications for info you want glanceable
-use widgets for everything else
-use the app switcher for switching apps

When I thought they removed the ability to change watch faces on the fly completely, I thought it was a failure. Once I Googled the new way to do it I realized I just had to get used to that new way. I like a lot of the other changes like making the apps view scrollable rather than zoomable.

Not really a new thing since you could always long press the face and then swipe left or right.

I've posted before that I think Apple is planning a different use for swipe left/right. They probably just want to give users time to get used to the idea that swiping left/right isn't for watch faces any more before they change it to something else.

The only thing that frustrates me is the new controller for HomePod/Apple TV content currently playing. I can't even count how many times I've accidentally paused, turned up the volume or skipped ahead in the audio/video because my watch brushes against the couch or pillow and either turns the Digital Crown or the screen gets touched.

As someone who was constantly accidentally triggering a swipe when crossing my arms, I've committed to re-learning how to use the OS. In a couple of months I'll forget swiping entirely. But overall I agree that this has been an uncomfortable OS upgrade because it changed fundamental ways of interacting with the device.

Same. I regularly found that my face had changed unintentionally when I would wear long sleeves. The tap and hold has completely fixed it. I could see them making it a settings toggle to make them swipeable again, but I much prefer the new method.

So let's review: WatchOS 10 is a failure because,

A. it doesn't actually break your creative-but-roundabout way of using an excessive number of complications, just adds a second step to access it, and—

B. Actually solves your use-case by introducing the cards interface accessed by twirling the crown up where you can add more apps, in a larger format, than their limited complications.

I just love this time of year, right after Apple releases new products and OS versions. Love it so much.

I suspect you'll be happier with Windows and Android then.
Not at all. While they do some things better, I can't stand them in general. These comments of "if you don't like feature A on system X go and use system Y that does A better instead" are often not appropriate, because there are only 2 or 3 operating systems for each class of device, but there are dozens or hundreds of features!

Been using Apple Watch since day 1. Many years now. I *never* liked the face swap feature. Way too easy to accidentally trigger. The logic of this issue is more than amply addressed by the new widget feature. You just need to get used to swiping up. It's a lot like the way the "dock" worked in the first version.

Remember glances (I think that’s what they were called? Basically widgets), the friend circle, and those disturbing animated emoji 😆
