Osama is dead! How did tech bring you the news?

I was just about to ask... I was wondering if that news was brought to you on an extended battery. Good thing you happened to mention that.

____

I found out about it on Twitter.

i can easily get 2 days of battery life on stock battery as well. i undervolted my phone too, so it uses less power consumption.

First received a news alert email from NY Times. Then I got push notifications from CNN, AP and NY Times in that order. I also push notifications from the same news sources on my iPad as well.

It's about time we killed him. It took billions and billions of funding to CIA, US Army, etc. and nearly 10 years. He's pretty damn smart to avoid capture for so long. Justice has been served!

It was all over Twitter. Thank god for technology.

LIVEFRMNYC, thanks i'll be upgrading lockinfo now.

I was on site in DC

The scene was totally epic - Me and the OP were facetiming the entire event live. Thanks to the jailbroken My3G and it actually worked pretty flawlessly!

Good thing I have the unlimited data plan! Take that AT&T!!!

Chris

That's an understatement. :p

LOL you know it. 680 News was one of the first to inform me too!

Wow that's awesome! I can only imagine how amazing that felt. Hopefully they'll make an ad out of that when they allow 3G Facetime!

Strangely, I wasn't listening to 680 News today. I usually listen to it on the way home from work. I was working late tonight, but I had some music going instead.

Then I opened Twitter and I saw about 400 new tweets in like an hour. I knew something happened. The first tweet I read says "Osama loses at hide and seek game".

Watching a girl and her toy on Cam4 ( which Steve Jobs feels I cannot view on my iPad) , and some dufus geek in the middle posted about it

my friends told me while I was smashing my head against a whiteboard studying for a final that I have tomorrow :p

Low tech here.

Woke up at 7:30am and turned on the TV to check the BBC news.

Got woke up in the early hours by my cat whining. Thought I'd quickly check Twitter so I fired up TweetComb and saw Bin Laden was trending.

Popped over to BBC News and watched the news on the website (via Flash might I add;)). Watched President Obama make the announcement then went back to sleep.

I love this generation of tech and the way news spreads instantly across the world.

I learned about this from the BBC on digital radio. There's a quote going around, so in case you're the one person on the planet who hasn't seen it:

'I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.' - Mark Twain
