Steve Jobs. Steve Wozniak. Everybody I ever met in real life.

So it will be OS 11, not OS X 11
Zwhaler said:OSX Sounds cooler. Most people don't understand that the X=10, and that the X is only in there so it will sound cool. Thats what I thought for awhile![]()

I hope they do that.thedude110 said:I'm placing my wager on OS X II.
Then OS 12, of course ...![]()
I was going to say the same thing. I've never heard anyone call it Oh-es-ex.dpaanlka said:Steve Jobs. Steve Wozniak. Everybody I ever met in real life.
I think you're in the minority there. I've never heard anyone call it anything but OS TEN.Zwhaler said:OSX Sounds cooler. Most people don't understand that the X=10, and that the X is only in there so it will sound cool. Thats what I thought for awhile![]()

Anyone who wants to sound at least halfway intelligent. Steve says Ten = Its ten and saying "ex" is wrong.thejadedmonkey said:Yeah, but who actually calls it oh-es-ten anyways?
Huh? As in Mac OS X? Where's the bunny with the pancake on its head?balamw said:Given Steve's recent penchant for putting Mac in names, we might even see a return to calling the OS that runs on Macs MacOS...

Actually that is what it is currently called right here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/ they might just use it more commonly.Heb1228 said:Huh? As in Mac OS X? Where's the bunny with the pancake on its head?

Which Keynote address should I send you to show you that none of that is true? Steve Jobs has never said os-es-ex to describe Apple's OS. We've covered this a hundred times and I'm not gonna argue about it. What Steve says goes.savar said:Originally it was that way, but Apple later changed their tune and started calling it OS X 10.x. So the X is now implicitly pronounced "ecks", whereas before it was explicitly pronounced "ten".
I suspect we'll get OS X 11.0, not OS 11
