Hmm, that is interesting.....any particular reason for doing so?

well before i knew the reason behind it looking like osx i was so confused. So I did what was natural for me- to pronounce it like any other word in the english language. Stop laughing I'm not a freak!

I see now, that is understandable. :)

Oh, I never thought that you were......although, your 'tar gives me some doubt.... ;) :D

I say OS ten, none of this ex business. And if there's a new version of OSX every 2 years or so, then around 2018 is when we'll see OS 11

When do think this will come out? Because it seems like with each step in OSX , there are so many upgrades and new features. Ah I just wanted to take a mostly unrealistic and futuristic look into what you think the OS 11 will be like. Bombs away!
OS 11 will be right after OS 10.9

Unless Apple decides to release a Mac OS X 10.10 :)

And please, nobody argue that 10.10 = 10.1. These are not mathematical numbers. If they were, we wouldn't have release numbers like 10.4.6

No it won't. it'll be OS 10.10 haha, that's what most do. Here's what I want to see in OS XI (OS 11)

Virtualization with the capability to scale virtually to any size cluster within a 128-bit range. We're just now getting to 64-bit ranges right? (For scalability)
128-bit capable computing using either 64-bit registers or 128-bit registers.
Multiple OS capability via virtualization with memory clusters of over 128GB (RAM = 128GB) - Virtual OS via Virtualization via Multi-core processor = 32 users on one machine using different monitors, keyboards, mice, etc.
Integrability with various servers such as Linux, Unix, *nix, Windows, Solaris, etc.
HDD will use HZFS Technology (Hyper ZFS - you all know about ZFS right? the one Sun made? Well Hyper ZFS will be more capable than ZFS).
Memory allocation and collection via advanced algorithms including enhanced performance java 3.0.
A complete collection of basic PIM utilities - iCal, Address Book, etc. along with utility specific applications - Wifi Radar, Video Network (VNTP Vid. Net. Transfer Protocol) built on the specifications of H.284 (yes we're only at H.264) so data transfers are quick and highly compressed.
Advanced algorithms (such as H.284) for handling data quickly and effortlessly with built-in power management to enhance performance over the tiniest amount of power usage - e.g. 5W.

... ok so a guy can dream right? This would be the perfect OS.

OS 11 better be like the Minority Report dammit :D

I hoping that it will be an entirely new way to interact with a computer though :)

Yeah, I've been hoping for a Minority Report OS for a long time. I always thought that was cool - the supreme object oriented paradigm. Dragging video icons to disks that actually showed the content. Of course, in the future we might not actually have removable media - everything will be networked.
