But there's no reason why other app developers couldn't.

Sure you won't get the core responding to texts/iMessages (it can still read them though) but other than that, everything else Android Wear does you're going to be able to do.

But the main purpose of Android Wear is to deliver notifications to your wrist, in order for you to not need to check your phone as often. Google search wouldn't likely be as useful either.

Overall, the effort that Google would have to put in would not be worthwhile in the end, considering some users are staying on Android just to use Android Wear. However, the largest issue with having Android Wear on iOS is Apple - it is extremely unlikely that Apple would allow it to happen.

I personally think that aside from some of the looks on the android wear, they have the right idea. Notifcations are all I want. If someone made an iOS watch that could let me change my music, see my texts/emails and incoming calls on a nice circular display I would buy it in a heart beat. Apple is trying to do too much and its stupid, no one cares about sending your heartbeat and the fact they were so excited to show that feature is pathetic.

I will agree with you, that if say Samsung showed off that feature, then people here, without question would all be saying what a stupid gimmic, typical of Samsung, throw everything at a wall idea that heartbeat thing was.

Personally, I don't feel that Samsung would have ever thought of the idea. I like the feature. It's gimmicky for sure, but it's charming, and a unique, emotional touch.

Of course you do :)

I don't mind the idea. I have no use for it, but the function does no harm.

Personally I think it's something that will very easily get dropped in later revisions as they realise it's just one of those things people played with for a bit then didn't use, and it just unnecessary.
