The same is happening to me right now. Full restore with the phone set as new. Everything is back at its place and the Other is going up. Now it's 1.6GB but I'm affraid it will be 2.1GB the next time I'll sync the phone.

Just had that happen. Other is now 2.26. It is getting to the point where I am reluctant to even update an app. I have no clue where the growth comes from as I am very careful to clear the cache of any app that has that ability.

Had exactly the same problem as most here, other was 3GB, WITHOUT any music as i have iTunes match, 11 photos on the phone, no iMessages at all, no WhatApp data. I have 2.5GB in apps of which approx 1.2GB are the iWork apps.

Tried all of the "usual" hacks without success, finally bit the bullet and did a restore with the phone connected to iTunes and success.!!!! My other is now 850MB and has been there for the last ten days.

Did the same thing with my iPad mini where other was almost 4GB, its now 900MB.

I wiped my iPhone and restored to a backup. I had more than 2GB free space. Since then, I haven't installed any new apps, only taken a few pictures (20 max), didn't transfer any music. Today I got the message that my iPhone was running out of space. Plugged in my iPhone, "Other" space is now again 2.8GB. How is this possible? I'm sick and tired of this. The most frustrating part is that there is no way to investigate what the cause is. Just "Other: 2.8GB". Gee, so basically you're telling me that 20% of my storage space is just gone and that I have to live with it. Stupid iTunes. It annoys me so much I cannot put it into words.:mad::mad:

Also my iCloud storage space is off. I've deleted everything I can delete from iCloud (no backups, no documents & data) and I still have only 3.5GB available. What's up with that? How is that Apple can't manage storage space. Ridiculous  .

U know I found this bug of the other space .. See if it happens...

Open itunes and sync ur phone ... Just keep hitting the sync button and let it sync...before u sync make sure u have atleast 2gb of open space ... Every time u sync u will notice the other space will take more memory.. Keep syncing until it stops increasing ... Then remove ur phone and plug it back.. And let it sync.. This time ur other pace will reduce ... It happens to me everytine

UPDATE- Further to the above, my other is now 1.5GB after one month. one thing that i have noticed is that deleting & reinstalling the Facebook app reduces the "other" by at least 200MB...

I use phone clean on my Mac to clean app cache files and messages attachments.

Works really good.

Facebook, paper, Instagram and tweetbot use a lot of cache space.
