Otterbox Commuter review (mixed colors) + another surprising case

Man I wish I could take this review seriously but as soon as I saw that nasty UK logo I knew I couldn't trust it

Just got the Otterbox Commuter for my IP4S. I absolutely LOVE it. Perfect balance between looks and protection. The best part is that I got my local Best Buy to price match Wal Mart's website and purchased it for only $25.88. Can't go wrong with that! I removed my Zagg screen protector and installed the included Otterbox one and MAN! What a difference! My screen is sooo smooth again
I need to get a belt clip for this case now, I think I'm going to try the Seidio Active X belt clip. I have the Seidio Surface case and holster and it ALMOST fits in that so I think it should work w/ the Active X holster.
Also, FWIW...mine has the new style silicone but BLACK in color and it says "Made in China" on the inside (The hard plastic outer piece says "Made in USA"). So maybe only the gray new silicone is "Made in USA" ???

It's an odd year in Gainesville when we are thrilled that football season is coming to a close for basketball season to begin. It's gonna be a fun season.
Yeah, you guys have definitely had an unusually down season. So has Tennessee (but I actually enjoy watching them suffer!)
Of course, it's just the opposite here in Kentucky. We (always) can't WAIT for football season to (mercifully) come to an end so basketball season can get started! This year should be all sorts of fun!

I ask because my SO bought an Otterbox Defender for her 4S that is coming in over the weekend, and while she is okay with it, she's worried more about the headphone jack at the top being open.
She has a Defender for her 3GS, which actually has the lip at the headphone jack that you can close, while the Defender she bought doesn't. Does the Commuter have something to cover the jack?

Yes, the Commuter has a rubber plug/flap that covers the headphone jack. It also has rubber covers over the volume up and down and the charging port on the bottom.
Sorry I missed this until now or I would've posted some pictures for you last night. As HKUSP.40 stated, there is a cover for the headphone jack. I'll grab some pictures for you tonight when I get home.

Every Defender case I've seen does have the flap, but there is still a hole in the flap, presumably for a headphone plug to go into. If that's the case, that makes that entire flap/cover useless, as water or something could still get into it, whereas in the 3G/3GS Defender case, that hole is completely covered. I'm wondering why Otterbox missed that, if they did at all..

Here ya go. I was able to grab a picture after all.
And you're making the same mistake others have made when it comes to the Otterbox cases. Don't worry about it, it's easy to do. That "hole" you're seeing isn't for headphones, but rather it's open for the noise-cancelling mic that's right beside the headphone port. The flap DOES cover the headphone port.

Honestly, they're exactly the same as the case that I contacted them about. They just sent me two more of the exact same case...lol. In fact, one of them, out of the box at least, fits worse than the original one (this was the green/gray combination).
Again, though, it seems if you just use the case for a week or so, the silicone seems to limber up and fit with the shell better. YMMV, but they've worked out alright for me so far.
Cannot say enough positive things about Otterbox. I simply emailed them with a question regarding my case and how the upper corner appeared to be ever so slightly warped. They emailed me back within 5 mins of sending the email and requested pics of the issue. I sent them pics and they replied with an order confirmation and stated they were sending me a brand new case! I couldn't believe it. Way to go Otterbox.
Which Active Holster fits the Commuter 4S case?
They make different sizes of the Holster right? thought I read you have to get the Active Holster for an HTC phone to fit the Commuter 4S case.
Cool. I'm probably going to skip the AppleCare this time around. I've owned about 7 cell phones now, none of them have ever been damaged but they've certainly been dropped. I know the iPhone's made out of glass, but I'm pretty good at taking care of things so I'll ride it out and we'll see how it goes.

I usually carry the verizon insurance for the first year and then always assumed I could buy a replacement for a decent price but now that smartphones are out and I have more money wrapped up in them than my 3 computers... I carry an applecare warranty.
