damn.. didn't know i'll get so much hate for this post. Don't get me wrong.. i love my MBA and i'll still be using it for next 2 or 3 years at least.. but we all know now that there is better one out there if we wanted to buy it right now.

So what? Enjoy what you have. Everything evolves and gets better. That is the nature of technology. Same goes for cars, tvs, cell phones, appliances and pretty much anything made by man. Do you replace and upgrade everything in your house every 2 years?

Please go here and link this thread to it.

For those with 2011 MBA don't you feel that your MBA is out of date now? I got that feeling after I watched the keynote with new line up of MBA. I fell that there is better MBA out there now and mine is out dated or second best.

And when you bought it I bet you convinced yourself that a 4GB i5 model would be future proof too...

Computers usually are only good for a few years before they become unable to run the latest software. It's very different from an appliance like a refrigerator, range, or a furnace. Those last many, many years and few people ever replace them unless they break down past the point of economically feasible repair. In my house, the refrigerator, range and furnace are still the same ones that were there when the place was built. But I've replaced my computers many times over the same period.

Can you define "a few years" for us all please, because I've got a 6 year old Mac Mini at home that still runs current software and handles tasks like streaming of HD content fine still...

There is always a new model just around the corner. Cars, houses, wives, etc... If the current model does what you need it to do, then fine. If not, upgrade.

I've been contemplating upgrading the current wife to a thinner and newer model, but she does not seem too happy about this.

Good thing she does not read these forums. :D Love you, baby.... Just in case she does

Haha. I actually missed that. So the OP's MBA was never latest and greatest and was always second best? Priceless.
