Yes, mine starts to lag if there are many apps in the multitasking bar.
When I press a folder icon with a few apps in it, it takes more than double of the usual time to open.
Then I have to kill all the apps in the multitasking bar and reboot the phone so that everything comes back to normal.
I think that Apple should limit the multitasking to lets say 10 apps.

i've been wondering this for a some time too. Last night I removed all of my music (5 gb) and am going to use my phone with minimal videos, podcasts. I' not an app addict, only run maybe 10-12 apps on my phone.

Going to see if I can feel any noticeable differences. So far today, all still seems as fast as ever. May all be for nothing.

I've never had a problem with lag (4K songs, 13 videos, 89 photos, 80 apps, 1.5gb available).

I do CONSTANTLY have the very aggravating problem of the wrong album art showing up though. A restore fixes it but it comes back almost immediately so at this point I'm waiting for 4.3 to do another restore.

My iPhone 4 used to be buttery smooth with everything I did on it. Since 4.1, it hasn't been quite as smooth. It lags if I have apps in my recently opened bar.

I have since jailbroken and turned off multitasking. Now my iPhone 4 is very fast, very smooth and lag free.

Apps like Safari, Mail and iPod will start to lag if you turn them landscape and re-open them. I don't know why Apple has a problem with landscape mode all of a sudden, but it has been this way since 4.1. Usually, your apps will be fine as long as you don't use landscape mode in them.

Had mine since launch day and doesn't lag at all. When I notice it lagging, I just close all my multitasked apps and it goes back to normal.

Still on 4.0 here and vanilla form.

1085 songs, about 250-300 videos, and 75 apps from the App Store. Has 7.0 GB space left.

No lag whatsoever. Buttery smooth as the day I got it. I simply don't like updating right away unless I hear it doesn't make my phone slow down or kill the battery faster. Plus, I have MiTube (aka MxTube) and VLC Player which holds alot of my videos and both got removed from the App Store. I don't have the patience to restore them all again. There could be some slight hiccups and freezes on occasion, but it is very rare. Maybe once every two months. I do clean up the multi-task bar alot. Single-core and still very fast and efficient. Probably the Samsung Focus can match its lag-free speed on AT&T.

Back in November, I noticed my phone was running extremely laggy. So, I went and erased a ton of music as well as apps I had used once or twice. With that, it ran like it did out of the box.

Although, like someone else posted, the only area I notice extreme lag is the Camera and Photo app. Would compiling the pictures into folders clean it up a bit more?

I have very little photos/movies on my iPhone, and the camera application takes about 20-40 seconds to launch. I don't feel like restoring my phone, since I don't really care too much.

Calendar hasn't changed much, nor has any of the other applications. However, when I close an app and go back to the home screen, some times it will lag considerably. Some times when I hit the sleep/wake button, it lags considerably too. -_-

All small stuff, nothing I really care about.

20-40secs to launch the camera app? I don't think that's acceptable at all. You should get your phone checked out

same as, i have a cretinous amount of lag on mine, im going to believe you guys about the photos as the camera is the most annoying part and will organise my pics better. Also closing all the apps does help as does the occasional restart as i never turn the thing off, dont need to do a hard reset in my opinion. i do however have about 0.12gb left which is obviously going to slow it down, but its a full time pod and is supposed to be such so i pack it with all i can carry, and am still without the occasional song when i want it. even my phone is crap and laggy sometimes so i do need to do something, getting annoying now.

P.s i know theres no grammer whatsoever in my post but its late and i dont care! sorry!
