Changing 'Sent From..' Address in Outlook 2011

Hello,

I'm new to Outlook. Is there any way I can add another email address to have in my 'sent from' or do I need to add the whole email account and keep the default as the one I use most regularly?

Thanks for any replies.

for redirect you have to put that in the settings.

That suggestion makes no sense whatsoever. I see nothing of the sort in the shipping version of Outlook 2011 Mac's "Preferences."

If there is a way to Redirect a message, please explain how with specifics.

Tasks and flagged email

In my Tasks, is there a way to separate out the flagged emails from the actual tasks I create? I find it really messy to view them all together, and need to prioritise the actual tasks. Have tried to create a smart folder, but no success….

Options for Send/Receive

Anybody know where the options are for Send/Receive in Outlook for Mac 2011? For example, set to S/R every XX minutes?

Outlook Preferences > Email > Schedule > Edit Send & Receive All from 5 minutes to whatever you want. :)

But isn't it push?

Outlook Preferences > Email > Schedule > Edit Send & Receive All from 5 minutes to whatever you want. :)

I don't understand why Outlook Mac is a timed send/receive. Isn't it a push technology where messages are pushed as they hit the Exchange server?

Outlook 2011 and exchange 2007

Yes, PC Magazine's review is correct. Outlook:Mac supports Exchange 2007 or later. If you're on Exchange 2003, you'll either need to get IMAP enabled on your Exchange server, or continue using Entourage.

Regards,
Nadyne.

My issue is a bit similar. I have 2 exchange 2007 clients, connecting to different exchange 2007 servers. I have one up and running but I am unable to connect the other.
Do I have to 'override default port' ? If so, how do I know which port to use on the server?

Sorry to crash in on Outlook 2011 discussion.

I'd about the migrating from Outlook 2007 (PC) to Outlook 2011 (Mac).
And it seems everyone is talking about syncing to MS Exchange to do that.

How do you transfer this data as per above without exchange?

I am migrating to the Macbook (from my current PC laptop).
And I would like to bring my emails and planners etc in the current outlook to the new one on a different computer.

Can I just save the .pst file in the PC to external drive and later import it directly to my Mac (with the Outlook 2011)?

I've yet to purchased the new Outlook 2011. Just want to be sure if I can do the above before buying it.

Any feedback appreciated.

My understanding is it is a common PST file between PC/Mac.

So you can just import the PST file on your Mac into Outlook once you setup your POP accounts.

I am fairly happy with Outlook 2011...the missing SharePoint integration, especially calendars and lists is a huge hole. I know ActiveX isn't there for the browser integration but the fact I cannot connect to a list within Outlook itself is a huge miss.

I'll end up going back to Outlook 2010 if they do not have a way to address it.

Here's a fun one - besides the fact that Outlook 2011 has been crashing on me with alarming regularity for the past three days.

Try rescheduling an appointment on your calendar. I can't find a way to do it and simply changing the time and updating it doesn't seem to send an update to the invitee list (according to what my coworkers are telling me).

I'm not 100% certain that the trouble isn't entirely between my seat and keyboard but it certainly isn't as intuitive as I'd expect based on years using the previous versions.

Hmmm....

I'm not sure about the calendar issue, as I only recently upgraded to the 2011 Office but you say your Outlook has been crashing a lot? Mine was too and asking me to rebuild my database once or twice per day and it was because I imported my 2008 Entourage identity/preferences ...so if you're still having the crashing problem, here's where I found answers that might help you. That problem blows and I wish you luck: http://www.officeformac.com/ms/ProductForums/Outlook/1651/0

Why Can't I View Photos (Attachments) In The Body Of An Email?

Since this seems to be a general questions about Outlook 2011, I'll post this here.

I recently upgraded from Entourage because I kept having database problems and got tired of rebuilding my database over and over. So far, I like Outlook well enough but I absolutely HATE that when I send, receive or compose a message that has several JPEG attachments, they don't show in the body of the email below my message, the way Entourage did. I don't see an option in Preferences on how to display, compose or view messages this way. How can I make the photos show up in the body of the email instead of in the Preview viewer (or both options at the same time)?

Although I can see that sometimes there might be an advantage to having that Preview window, at the same time, sometimes it just slows down your work flow to click the stupid button and then click through all the photos individually (or if I have to refer back to one of my own sent messages with a lot of images.

Does anyone know if this option exists anywhere besides Preferences?

So, in short, I would like to be able to view JPEGs in the body of INCOMING messages, as well as my outgoing or SENT messages. ...it just makes it so much easier and faster to work that way!!!

Any solutions or thoughts?

Ex: This is a link to one of my projects that shows a bunch of images I might send to a client for the first time to "present" their logo concepts in a way that will allow them to see the potential of what that logo concept is, rather than just showing them the logo and because they don't have a vivid imagination, they can't see its potential so they might take a look at a logo that has the potential of becoming a world class brand and they'd just discard it in a matter of seconds. ...so having all these in the body of an email allows mt to present it in a certain way to get my point across for its full potential instead of them looking at each image individually.

Here's another example just to illustrate it further. I could not pull this off in the Preview feature:

How to disable an account in Outlook?

I'd like to ask a quick question:

I just terminated my Yahoo account, which I had been accessing through my Outlook 2011 with POP. I would like to keep all the Yahoo e-mails that I currently have in my Outlook, but don't know how to disable this account within Outlook?

I'm afraid that if I remove it from my "Accounts" list, it will as well remove all the messages pertaining to it. Currently I keep getting error messages each time Outlook fails to connect to Yahoo server, as obviously it has been terminated.

Any ideas?
