But it comes down to you are running a Ruby script someone put together to create an EDID override file. You locate that file and drop it in /System/Library/Displays/Overrides and reboot. Can't say if you did it correctly or not despite it being rather simple so if it does not work I suggested getting a DL DVI adapter as that would rule out the RGB issue if it does fix the problem. If it doesn't you are SoL.
