It is excellent, depending on what reference manager you prefer to use. Papers3 and the upcomming Readcube revamp does not support it. Paper2 can insert references in Scrivener 2 but not Scrivener 3, and can not compile the document before you export it to a supported app (Word, Pages). Don't know how it interacts with EndNote, Mendeley, etc.Is it any good for writing scientific papers? In particular citations, references, automatic table of content and such things or is it more for the novelist?

Scrivener has built in support for snapshots, meaning you only ever have to back up one file, and have all your previous versions at hand.Sorry for the question, I just haven't found the answer yet. Does Scrivener automatically backup the latest version of a writing project to dropbox or do you have to manage each version. Example, If I add to a current project will that auto update my changes to dropbox like iCloud does with the Notes or Pages app, or will I need to go into dropbox each time to add the new and delete the old? Hope that makes sense..
