It has been an a very frustrating few days. We are absolutely still here, even shipping - but with a very diminished network capability - that is taking longer to restore than was anticipated. We thought we were past this after our weekend challenges and ultimately had to address this further beginning yesterday afternoon.

The team here is working diligently around the clock with first class resources brought to bear to bring resolution as soon as humanly possible.

No one, least of all the the OWC team and I, want to see this outage go on a millisecond faster than it needs to. We'll be back online at the soonest possible moment. I appreciate any understanding and support. Thank you!
Thank you Larry, I have no idea how bad this must be on you and the team. I have done a lot of business with you over the years and this is so out of character. Stay caffeinated and we all look forward to seeing you back up and running
 
I've bought RAM from them, and had very-good results.
Question: I've tried to go to the site several times over the past several hours, and cannot get through...does anyone know if something's happening over there?

OWC site is STILL down 4 days after you posted this. Still saying maintenance. OWC Larry, at least it's nice to know customers are interested and concerned. Good luck with everything. Whatever the problem is will be behind you soon and forgotten.
 
Care and concern is incredibly appreciated! Pleased to report that our https://www.owc.com site is back up... some dns to repropagate.. but things looking good for things to return sooner than later. We are operating out of an abundance of caution to ensure all restoration is resilient - and we can get back to the normal for the good of all. Sincere gratitude and thanks!

@OWC Larry Do you want feedback on what's working on our end? Right now, I get a blank page for https://www.owc.com.
And for the forum - "The database connection failed. Please check your database configuration in include/db/config.php. If the configuration is okay, check if the database server is running."

This is at 2pm EST.

Some of the bring up I'd suspect. We had a redirect on OWC.com during our outage and awaiting DNS to properly re -propagate there. Eshop is now back up and operational. We are now quickly returning to an operational state. Grateful to a highly capable and engaged IT team at OWC that is cranking through to see services resiliently restored. Still a lot of pain with the time down.

I do sincerely apologize for impact from this down time event.

Looks like https://ca.macsales.com/ is back up but OWC.com is still down
OWC.com has been up for a few hours now and Macsales.com more recently... but - there is still some caching we need to push a purge of out there to force some browsers to relook up DNS.

OWC.com is still 'out' and redirecting to Eshop.macsales.com (which again is back up) on my Safari browser... but on Chrome - it's fully up... and on FireFox - nada... My head is still spinning a bit and I don't have the answer on this exactly - other than all our sites are up - but there are some DNS caching issues to resolve / propagate across the inter web that may still affect OWC.com in particular.

I can's say enough to all - thank you for your understanding, patience, and concern. I am grateful as I am apologetic.

I've been in this situation way more times than I'd like to admit. That DNS is gonna take a while to settle. The propagation chart is still all over the place. I can't get to the website where I'm at, but if I VPN into Kansas City I can.

Here's a cool tool that helps you the current state of your DNS propagation around the world.

I wouldn't ever tell anyone my website is back up again until that map looks consistent. You'll just get unhelpful input from people trying to be helpful.

Just made a few recent purchases then the site "disappeared". Now that it's back I breathe easy. I thought hacking might be the problem. Or maybe someone lacked the right Torx driver to open a widget up. Or many some said don't plug that in or... bzzzzzt! Lights out. It's back now. Larry's forum members who haven't found this thread must be concerned. If this forum were down for a like time I'd be panicking. I read and seldom post. Best of luck to the OWC staff.

It is currently down again; I’m assuming they tried something and it needs to propagate. I’m confident (now that Larry has reassured us) that they will be getting it back. I hadn’t understood how much I check the forum until we didn’t have it.

Patience is something I need to work on, apparently.
