That's cool, actually what got me to write this, was my friend was asking me if I was getting one because i'm and Apple "slut" according to him, and I told him, I wasn't really sold on the new phone. He told me he was getting one, and I said it's an awesome upgrade for him as he is coming from a 5S, but for a 6S owner, I really didn't see the reason too.

Please though, do me a favor, when you get it, don't come on here and complain about a dead pixel, or yellow screen, or how you hate the new home button, and are taking it back because it's no better than the 6/6s you had, LOL!

Well that's kind of hypocritical isn't it? Telling him to do you a favor by not posting nonsense in a post you created that's nonsense.

I know 10,000th thread about 6s to 7 switch.

I have had every iPhone since day 1, every year I have either stood in line or pre-ordered. Every year I have been happy to do so, except this year.

This is the 1st year, I don't see a reason too, as a matter of fact I actually feel like it may be a step back(for me). The only phone I would get would be the 7+, but I'm not crazy about the size, my Wife has a 6+ and i play with it and find it too big for me. I actually find the larger + phone kind of effeminate as I really only see females carrying phablet sized phone, please don't hang me for that comment, but it is true.

Here are my reasons, as a current 6S owner.
1- The camera is basically the same, I mean yeah the 7 has optical and 1 more element to it, but thats it.
2- A10 vs A9, so far the consensus seems to be, not that much difference and with the new home button, may actually be slower in real world.
3- Water/Dust proof, nice I guess, I live in the city and have never dropped my phone in the water, so not really an issue. Plus it's been pretty much proven that and quick 2 second submerge in the toilet(likeliest place I would drop it in water) isn't really going to mess the phone up.
4- Screen improvement. Again Consensus seems to be "don't see a difference"
5- Loss or headphone jack. Actually not a big deal for me, I have BT headphones and it comes with a dongle, but again it's nice to have in case.
6- If you have an ATT/T-Mobile version, you actually lose true world phone abilities.

Like I said, the only reason I would upgrade would be to get a 7+, as I would at least gain a larger true HD screen, longer battery life, and an optical zoom camera, but then I have to deal with a larger phone, and I'm not sold on that and actually passed on it on the 6 and 6S.

IOS 10, was the coolest upgrade to me, and well that was free. If the rumors are true the phone next year sounds like the real advance, OLED UHD screen, wireless charging. Now that sounds like an upgrade, I would want.

What do you mean by number 6? How would I lose true world phone abilities?

See the LOL at the end, it meant I was joking with him, you seem to just be coming in here to complain. Speaks tons about you.

If you have an GSM version (SIM card) like ATT and T-Mobile, Apple removed the CDMA capabilities from the phone on the 7/7+, so it is no longer truly a World phone. While the Verizon/Sprint CDMA version also has GSM capabilities.

So are you telling me I can't switch to Verizon or Sprint using the 7 Plus phone if I started with AT&T?

Wow so you're saying all the men carrying the plus sized phones are effeminate?

So are you telling me I can't switch to Verizon or Sprint using the 7 Plus phone if I started with AT&T?

You can buy the Verizon version to use on at&t if you want a world iPhone, assuming you're buying outright (or opt for the Verizon version through the iPhone Upgrade Program even if you're with at&t). World phone status seems to come and go with iPhones. If I recall correctly, the 4s was a world iPhone but we didn't get that with the iPhone 5.

Exactly, the ATT/Tmobile version will not work on the Sprint/Verizon network, but the Sprint/Verizon will work on the ATT/TMobile.

No, I said I think the + is more a girls phone, as 90% of the people I see with the iphone+ or a Note are women. Never said anything about the men carrying it. I guess reading comprehension, is a lost skill.

By the way, I may still get a &+ myself, haven't completely shut the door on that idea.

Can't argue with your logic. This was the toughest upgrade decision I've had...and I'm coming from the 6 Plus (ie not the "s" version. I wanted a smaller phone after living with the plus size for the past two years....but that's just me! I had all but convinced myself to go for the 6s, but opted for the 7 (4.7) today. I my mind, it's pretty much a toss up between the two.

I just flat out like a new phone every year.

If it's got some upgrades, great.

If not, I'll never know.
That's how I feel. Plus my monthly phone payment remains the same if I upgrade or if I don't. So I upgraded.

Interesting to me to see so many "guilty consciences" posts from people not upgrading for the first time ever. Like Apple is going to take away their "customer card" or something if they don't do a public confession.

Yearly iPhone upgraders: It's OK if you skip this one. It really is. I promise you that the sun will continue to rise, and that Apple will be there for you next year. No forum confession required. :)

See again, here you are just yapping to yap. I wasn't complaining. I was listing the reasons I didn't see the reason for "upgrading" to a 7, if you read my post and paid attention instead of just wanting to barf all over this thread and be "Mr Cool Ice", You would know that I am considering the 7+.

So I'll wait till you come back with a snappy retort in 2 hours.

Notice I said "haha" it means that I was just joking, don't take things so seriously :)

Last year was the first I skipped, like my 6+ but a better processor, 3G ram, and the camera upgrade sounded like a nice jump. If I had a 6s+ I probably wouldn't upgrade. If the 8 is a great phone next year I may upgrade again, or I may cancel the order I have for the 7+ and wait till next year. Just worried that my 6+ is going to die the next few months.
