Paid Full Price But Wanted Installment Plan?

I woke up at 3am and ordered an iPhone X through Apple.com. Unfortunately, I was still half asleep and chose to purchase it at full price instead of an installment plan through Verizon. I thought by the time I corrected the order, I would have missed out. Is there anyway to resolve this when I receive the phone on Friday? It's being shipped to my house, if that makes a difference.

Could I return the iPhone and immediately repurchase it? If so, is that something I have to do in person, or over the phone?

Curious to know this as well. I’ve heard conflicting reports about being able to do this - it may depend on individual Apple Stores’ management.
