Actually, the speculation in this thread is not if the Pre will be a viable product. It may very well fail. The question is whether the introduction of the Pre has spurred Apple into implementing more features into firmware 3.0 than it already would have (if the Pre was never introduced). This thread doesn't need to be anymore "Pre sux, iPhone rulz" than it already is.
Hey I agree with you, the Pre may or not fail and whether it "sux" or not, I could care less. However, the discussion on this thread of if/why/how Apple is being spurred on by the introduction of the Pre is still speculation, but that's why we're on this site.
