Not much luck ;) I get maybe 7-12 frames per second on the screen saver and it gets pretty stuttery systemwide when I do it. Maybe someday when we have a quantum core G7 with a Radeon 15000 XT it will be smooth as butter.

Maybe. And do you have a life outside this forum?

I sincerely hope you aren't trying to be flamatory by that, it's uncalled for.

I guess it all depends on what the word "flamatory" is, and means. Because it wasn't in my dictionary.

Apparently the word "respect" wasn't in your dictionary, either.
Actually, the word "respect" is in the dictionary. And are you trying to be glib with me? I'm not sure if you are serious or not. But just in case you are perturbed, I will elucidate. The comment I proffered in relation to your "life outside this forum" was jocular, not derogatory. My posts and humor style tend be un-wet and droll at times. No personal abuse is actually indicative.

You know, its funny. I made a similar comment once to good ol Powerbook G5, and he took serious offense to it back then as well. I cant remember the thread, but i bet he does, seeing how MacRumors is his life and all.

Maybe there's some truth to these comments?

Easy there tiger.

Dude, what the heck did I do to you? I never once did anything to attack you, so just lay off of me. I thought it was a general rule that you do not attack members on the forum, this is the kind of thing that gets people banned.

I think your comments here are more "flamatory" than agreenster's. lol. By the way, don't be irritated that you don't have a life outside this forum. No one ever said it was a bad thing. This is a great site to spend your life on! isn't is agreenster?

PBg5, cool down. IMO no one said anything that would make anyone even think of banning them. You are taking this way over-the-top if you ask me.

Peace and love! :D :p

Well I'm sorry, I guess I was just expecting more mature behavior from people here since it seemed that generally members of this forum are more respectable than other places I've been to. I just don't see where it's appropriate to be accusing others of having no life for no apparent reason. I don't accuse any of you of having no life, so share the respect.

I have to agree with PBG5 here. I don't think he was being over the top, and I don't think there was any need for TigerPRO to make the comment in the first place.

Anyway, back on topic, here's a picture of expose in action to calm everyone! (Actually it's a Windows XP desktop picture but they are all quite nice) :)

Good question. It's a cool little program called "BackLight" that lets you play a screensaver as your desktop background. It's one of those cool little apps.

I don't think you have a correct impression johnnyribbs. It was only meant to amuse PowerBook G5. So please don't view it as a negative remark. Just chill out a little folks, I don't understand all these negative assumptions.

Just so you know PowerBook G5, I wasn't being unkind or unfriendly, sorry if I came across that way to you. You can safely assume nothing I say is meant that way. I let you know if I'm ever seriously being rude.

I take your point but it obviously didn't amuse him. Maybe you should have put an emoticon in ( ;) ) so that comments are not taken the wrong way. Anyway, I say no more on the matter and we can all get along nicely. No harm done :)

Just downloaded BackLight 2 - it's quite nice, although probably annoying and pointless when you have lots of windows open and can't see the desktop anyway.

Well, it wasn't so obvious to me. I though he was being glib with me. So I played long. Anyway...

Yes, great program. It mainly serves me the purpose of impressing my PC friends, trying to get them to concede. lol. It's been working pretty good so far. You fire up the iTunes visualizer in a window, then you start backlight, open up a few transparent widgets, and then start poking around in the terminal. They'll think you are from the future. Then they usually proceed to bow down and worship my beautiful my 17 inch imac (ok, not really, but that's probably what they are thinking).

heres my attempt...
http://www.chromanetmusicworks.com/adamjay/neverdidcrash.jpg

12" 867mhz G4 Powerbook with 640mb ram.
it certainly didnt crash but certainly did slow down.. and i had activity monitor open as well and still had 7mb left of unused ram before i took the screen shot.

the fun part was quitting all the appz one by one and noticing the computer becoming faster and faster as i did so.

and btw, i dont have that much shi# in my dock... usually only about 10 things. hehehe
