Parallels Desktop 9 with OS X Mavericks and Cloud Services Support Launches for Existing Customers

I'm occasionally lazy, want a quick break from coding/writing, or for some other reason want to access the windows side of my machine without switching over entirely.

I've played World of Tanks, Skyrim, and some other games via a Parallels VM, and while it's not as good as the native experience, it's perfectly serviceable.

Me too. I've played Skyrim, F1 2012 (before Mac version was released), etc. in a Parallels VM quite happily.
I play most of my games on native Mac now - Bioshock Infinite, Arkham City, Deus Ex, F1 2012, etc.
Bootcamp is an enormous pain, only to be used in emergencies.

Could you take a gander at what feels faster specifically, and by how much? I don't really care about sleep or shut down times as much as I do just using the virtual machine itself.




I should have been clearer. I think the biggest argument for doing it in a VM is if you're a multitasker. Obviously, if that isn't important, Boot Camp will certainly be the way to go.

I know this is late to reply, but start up/shut down is about 2-3 seconds faster (since it's fast already, this is a big deal). Also, things like moving windows around is much smoother.
