Peeps, help me pick a color combo for the second phone that I am going to sell if the micro power pack comes back in stock. I don't want to go with a black back b/c my other one has a black back. So either chalk with white front or chalk with black front. Or the football leather (doesn't appeal to me but maybe guys would like it?).

I really don't care for the white fronts myself but people seem to like them at least in the iPhones and since I will be selling the phone, I want to pick a popular combo. These are my choices:

Which one would be the best for resale, keeping in mind that the football leather one would be $25 more. No biggy but do you think people would pay $25 more for it?

I think the white on white would sell the best, but what do I know. Do you think you can make your money back selling the Moto X after the coupon? I haven't really looked at the values honestly.

Not sure if I made any profit but everything is surely paid for by this deal including several MHS291L's, ipad mini gold 128gb and a few UML295's, Cradlepoint 1400's etc! Man this was fun!!!

Sure was and it sucks that it had to end but I am just thankful that I got in on it at all!!!!

How do you proceed when selling to complete strangers? Meet them in a public place? Have one of those pens to check their money to see if it is real?

The problem isn't who or how we ship with ebay the problem is how we get paid. When I sell internationally I only accept bank wire transfers or Postal Money orders (from participating countries) and never anything tied to a credit card.

That's good advice but it has to limit the pool of potential buyers that would be willing to buy from you.

That's nice but it has to limit the pool of buyers who would be willing to buy from you. If you are selling something rare or unique it may not be an issue but for a commodity like an iPhone, it has to lower the price buyers are willing to pay, too.

Thank, gtk. Now I don't feel so bad b/c there was no way I was AOLing a line with my phone on it and it was either put the "buyer's" phone on it or a PDI. Sounds like no matter what I couldn't have gotten out of the activation fee given that I didn't want to put one of my phones on the line for the AOL.

The only way I can think of that would have worked would have been to activate using an active SIM then AOL the line to my mom and then have it AOLed with a PDI on it to a "buyer". Damn, why didn't I think of that before it would have saved me over $400 in activation fees. Grrrrr!

That would limit risk a lot if you were shipping to a known and trusted buyer via a freight forwarder.

What really cemented in our heads the fact that we wanted to take a pass on reshippers was the fact that lots of people from notoriously risky countries use reshippers. Allowing an iPhone to be forwarded to a country like Ukraine or Russia is a gamble at best.

Thanks. I don't know if I can make 100% of my money back after taxes, shipping and fees, but if you factor in all of the accessories discount I would be getting, it would save me a good bit of money. But the accessories I want haven't come back in stock and if they don't come back in stock, I will be giving the code away to a friend who wants it.

I am never selling my OG Moto X's. They are the best phones I have ever owned.

I wasn't planning on selling my black leather Moto X 2014 if it can be rooted but I am waiting a few months to see if anyone can root it.

As for the additional Moto X 2014, I am only going to buy it if the accessories I want get back in stock but it isn't looking like they will.

An unused football leather, black front 32GB Moto X 2014 just sold for $520. Before the coupon, that would go for $575 and after coupon, $435. With an 8% sales tax $470.

Swappa fee is $10 and paypal fees on $510 are $15, so $25 in fees.

$470 + $25 = $495.

If you ship USPS Priority mail flat rate medium box with insurance on $500, that would be about $20.

$495 + $20 = $515

So at least for a 32GB, football leather back, black face you could make your money back.

The accessories I want aren't back in stock and I doubt they will be so I am giving my code away, but it is nice to know at least with the football leather back you could make your money back if you changed your mind and didn't want to return.

If you click through MrRebates and get the 3% cash back you could make a small profit to compensate you for your time.
