I'd appreciated everyone who tries to help. I don't know what's going on with Macrumor community. Why you insist or suggest my phone was a stolen one? Is that kind of funny?

Because tons of new Macrumors pop up claiming the same thing as yourself. You just happened to forget your password and it just so happened that your computer was also wiped.

If you purchased the phone, you should be able to show the proper proof of purchase to Apple.

If your computer was the only place you had a backup stored, you are out of luck with your iPhone.

I find it rather strange, that you want to do whatever it takes to bypass the code, instead of getting your phone back to a usable state.

i think that at our school people were joking that somebody might have bought an iphone 4 (rumor was: stolen) for cheap...

Isn´t it good for poor people to be able to buy cheap things? If they are stolen once, how often does it happent that they are returned?? (if they are not found????-for example battery/sim remove which happens 90% of time)

NOW WHEN THEY ARE STOLEN:THEY ARE BEING SOLD AS APPLE ID LOCKED!!!
WHY NOT MAKE DEVICES FUNCTIONING, istead of BEING LOCKED? AND THEREFORE A PERFECTLY WORKING PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY IS UNUSABLE simply because of anti theft and Apple ID locks?

Just by the way: it is recommended to let the thief use your phone as much as possible in order to maximize the chances of returning it to the original user. As long as they don´t get hold of any private data.

Quite possibly the stupidest post I have ever read. You sir, are an idiot, and we are all dumber for reading that blabbering ramble of crap on a stick.

Mods, I am willing to take discipline for saying that, because it needs to be said. Read the post before you censor me.

That idiotic attitude is exactly why Apple Picking existed in its rampancy before iCloud activation.

Kudos to Apple for curbing people like this, and may the poster come home to find everything he values stolen, but in perfect use by the thieves.

How does one forget a passcode that they presumably use multiple times a day? That's why people are insisting that the phone is stolen.

That's not why, there are people like this. I had to reset my uncle's google apps acct three times last week (side note: google admin app is handy!). Jeeezus... Some people and tech!

Its the claim that it locked her out without wiping the device. 10 bad tries is wipe or nothing, depending on your device settings. Then you restore / set up as new.

Apple is not responsible for user data and taking it to the Genius Bar won't be of any use. To resolve your issue you will need to DFU restore the device and anything information on there that isn't backed up or on iCloud is lost.

:( Apologies if that isn't what you want to hear, Apple can pretty much fix anything but data loss is not one of them.

That is why we back up our phones, so when we restore, we don't have to set up as new and if the phone is wiped, we can restore from backup. I deal with literally 10 different passwords a day at work. I also have my own personal password protected devices and accounts, laptop, iPhone, iCloud, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, multiple emails (5), etc. I don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but, something as important as a phone, and every cellphone I have ever had has been password protected. I take it more seriously and store the password in a convenient place in my brain. If all else fails, write it down and put it in a safety deposit box.

Agreed. I'm not reporting it.

I already took the lesson :(

Thanks !

Probably because people don't generally forget a 4 digit code they enter into their phone possibly 50-100 times a day.
