Depends on how you use it. The way things look for you now, it's not worth it. That said though, if you have the extra cash...

My first iPhone was 16gig so when in upgraded to iPhone 4 I got 32 and am glad I did. To me it was worth it. But I see it as I would rather have too much than not enough.

NO. I have a 32GB and I only use 9. I always make sure that I only have the things that I use. I did it after my phone got to 29GB. It has 3GB of programming. They should tell you how
Much of the memory is programming.

I have a 32gb and I don't regret it at all. I'm really glad I switched up from 16gb when I had the chance. I tend to take a lot of pictures, download a lot of apps, and keep a decent sized music collection. It would have been a lot harder with only 16gb of storage. I fluctuate between 1gb to 8gb free space depending on when I sit down and start cleaning out what I don't need.

initially i was excited about putting movies on my phone, but the 3.5" screen is really to small to watch them in any meaningful way, but i do have 19gig of music on it that i shuffle daily.

When I initially upgraded, I got the 16GB iPhone 4. Well, my iPod Classic soon broke, so I was left with the decision to get a 32GB iPhone 4 on eBay or make due with my 16GB until the next iPhone came out. Ultimately I decided to purchase a new iPhone 4 32GB on eBay, and subsequently sell my 16GB. It's a decision I don't regret in the least bit. I don't have a ton of apps installed on my phone, but I do like to keep a good bit of my music collection on my phone since that I use the iPod app to listen to music in my car. Plus it really works for me since instead of bringing my iPod and iPhone with me whenever I went out, I just can grab my iPhone and know the majority of my music collection is on there to listen to. For $100 more, I definitely would "upgrade" to the 32GB.

Most of things that used to take up space on my phone (Music, Photos, Videos) can now be efficiently streamed from various services. This has freed up a lot of space on my phone. However over the lat year apps have gotten much larger. While I could get away with 16GB, the extra space on a 32GB will mean that you wont have to fight with space.

One thing to keep in mind is that some apps are huge and during updates can consume 2-3 time the install size. For example apps like Infinity Blade and TomTom require almost 4GB free space to install (in addition to the 2GB that they take after the install).

tough call

I found this thread from a search.
I'm picking up my first iphone later this week.
My 16g touch has 10g of music and barely any apps.
Leaves me with 4-5 free, but I think with an iphone and
unlimited data, I will get tons more apps.
Also, video must use up a lot of space.

Tough call, I'm leaning to the 32.

I have a 32GB and don't regret it. I have about 8-9GB left. I figured $100 extra is worthwhile over the period I keep my phone. I had an 8GB iPod touch prior to my iPhone and never thought I would need more than that - And I don't, but now I just have better options (which I like).

Plus, if you sell your iPhone later, the 32GB will fetch for more than a 16GB would, so in the long run, you aren't paying a full $100 more for twice the space. After you sell it, you might be paying $30-60 for twice the space (32Gb iPhone 3gs sells for 300-320 on ebay ... but a 16GB sells for $250 - 270 on average)

If you unlock a 16GB it is worth almost 350 in my experiance. The 32GB can make you some money if you think about it, what sucks is the ebay seller fees.

I would do it, that away if you really want iPhone 5 you can sell your 32GB on ebay or craigslist (make sure to unlock and jailbreak it) for like $500

The main reason to upgrade would be if you record a lot of HD video or if you want tons on non streamable videos on your iphone. if you use imovie. Those are the main things i could see using all the space.

I got the 16gb last Saturday but this weekend right before my 2 weeks ends I'm going to upgrade up to a 32gb white iPhone 4.

I didn't think I would use much space but I've been taking a lot more photos and videos and the apps can take up quite a bit.

I couple high quality films would will up a 16GB iPhone. I'm not saying you necessarily need HD on a 3.5" screen but it looks awesome.

32gb basically means i can bring all my music with me. On my ipad 64 gb basically means all my music plus a bunch of movies or tv shows.

It is a lot of space but i am sure you will find a way to use it up.

I'll be getting a 32GB iPhone 5 when it releases..I have had the 3GS in 16 and iPhone 4 in 16 and would prefer the 32GB because I prefer the extra room in case I want to shoot some video.

Not any different than people who buy a Mustang or Camaro, and put the 6 cylinder engine in it.

i guess its just that feeling that u can put more crap on your phone. i absolutely love my iphone and the only other phone i would get is the iphone 5. i see paying $100 for 32GB might be good for 2 reasons

1. extra memory for only $100 more
2. will sell or trade in for more money if i decide i want the iphone 5

If you buy a lot of apps, particularly a lot of games, I'd recommend it, especially if you want to be able to carry all your games around with you. If you want to put a GPS program that stores the maps on your phone, it might be good (Navigon is almost 2 GBs by itself).

I have a 32 GB and both those criteria fit me. I have less than 9 GBs left now. Granted I think if I wanted to be a lot more efficient I could probably squeeze that under 16 GBs (though I hit near the 16 GBs mark pretty close to after I got my new iphone a year ago, I had a lot of apps from my 16 GB iphone to transfer over). But I like being able to carry all my games with me and have apps that I may not use all the time but have some use for available to me without worrying about whether I need to install them or not.

Personally, I thought it was worth the upgrade (and I don't have a large music collection, or at least as large as I hear people on here have. It fits on my iphone as well as all those apps).
