Just the opposite for me. Every time I tried to use my CC online to make a purchase over $1000, it gets flagged for fraud. Never once with my debit card, and I have purchased a $5000 OLED tv with it online, all my iPhones with it online, and no problems. I tried to purchase my iMac earlier this year online from Apple using my CC and it was denied for possible fraud. Used my debit card, and went through without issue. My credit rating is 850, so it's not bad credit.

Your bank might have a different threshold, however most banks use a lower threshold on debit cards as Teton to reverse a debit is more of a pain than credit.
 
I will ring Apple in the morning to update to credit card as department it closed now.
 
Is anyone else baffled by Apple Pay being flagged as fraud? Is there another payment system out there that is more secure?

Not to mention if someone has Apple Pay setup they probably use it to buy tech/Apple/Verizon stuff all the time. A lot of these seem to be delayed fraud notices as well - maybe just because the carriers are so backed up though.

  • There has been an occurring issue from the weekend with card providers and the initial option selected on the website, where it locks to the Apple Pay and from this, your card provider has a cap on the amount that is possible to be spent on this - which then due to the higher amount of the order, is blocking the payment from going through

  • The only other way for ourselves to amend your card and to take the Apple Pay option away, is by calling our team over the phone on 0800 048 0408 and they can manually change this and add your debit/credit card to allow the payment to go through

  • That’s the thing, for whatever reason the website is locking to the Apple Pay setting - so whenever you go to add another card - it is still trying to obtain the authorisation from the initial card - which is very frustrating.
Your order will not cancel, as per the website - the authorisation will continue to be attempted twice daily, for seven days then if it continues to fail, it will then cance
 
I rang dot on 8AM I've been on hold 1 hour 10 minutes, Im gonna go mad when I get through

Strange - I started the call at 08:43 (after getting cut off), got through and was on the line for about 10 minutes.

All sorted - they just changed the card manually and transaction went through.

Im absolutely foaming, I'm on 2 phones now, just wait till they answer :(

Mobile was still on hold 1hour 30 mins, I told him this and he didn't know why.... although now I think about it, when I rang using my mobile the automated voice got mixed up with my order number but put me through anyway, calls with no order number may get routed somewhere else.... never mind, all sorted, still on for 03/11 pick up :)

All looks ok in the app from my perspective!

I find that automated service desk strange - mainly due to the artificial typing in the background once you've given an answer!

Let's hope from now and until friday is smooth sailing!

I also had a problem with Apple Pay on the app, but on the Italian store. After a single 40-minute call I was able to sort it out. The representative wanted to cancel my order and start over, but I strongly refused. He was eventually able to solve my issue, which was an erroneous billing address.
