~10-15gb for the Windows files, depending on how much you strip it down. Another ~5gb for swap file, so 20gb for your system to be safe. Then you will need whatever space the games would take up. I wouldn't go under 50gb, which doesn't leave you a lot for OSX.

Give 40GB a try. That's what I'm doing with my 128GB SSD. With applications like Steam you can have 1-2 games installed that you play frequently and leave the rest off.

im using parallels, only have instances where i need to use Windows sporadically....I only gave 32GB with an expanding disk, since i wont need more it should be fine....

Which software?

I'm new to the whole dual operating system thing, I used to have a PC, now I have the new 15" Macbook Pro (2.2GHz, 256gb Apple SSD, 8gb RAM). What does everyone recommend to load windows, Parallel or what else is there... also, on a 256gb hard drive, how much should I allocate to windows. I mainly plan to use windows for work related stuff (Primavera P6, and Office mainly). Thanks!

Just threw in an extra 500gb hard drive. Put Windows on it and started downloading all my Steam games. No biggie.

Plus I use Windows for Revit, AutoCAD (AutoCAD is overrated anyway, but the Mac version is limited in a number of areas), and a variety of environmental programs like Ecotect.

500GB for Windows as i dont really play games on Mac OS X...still too slow..and coming from a desktop PC, i need all the speed i can get -- as of now thats Windows for me ;)

How is that working? I just ordered my macbook pro with a 128gb and I need windows for 3ds max and maybe a game if i can squeeze it on.

none, I haven't switched to Apple to keep on using that MS crap!

Everything I need is available on Mac OSX, so why should I use MS? (I'm a console gamer, not a PC one)

Current machine has 500g HD. I did 250g for each - OSX & Windows 7. I have used up approximately 120g on the Mac side, and 100g on the Windows side.

Will probably do the same with the new machine, which is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. Want to go with a SSD eventually, but can't afford right now.

I gave Windows an 80GB partition, and left the rest of the machine for OSX (256GB SSD).

I run Visual Studio 2010, SQL Server (Not Express), and games - seems to be plenty. I plan on ripping out the optical at some point, and putting in a 500GB 7200 RPM data drive to share between both OS's.
