Well, I have several Kickstarter projects are are YEARS behind schedule (but, supposedly, not defunct). I've found that most tech projects on there severely underestimate the manufacturing processes, the impact of Chinese New Year, and so forth. And as far as the 7S/7S+ being identical... I've found that there's always a small enough change--the movement of the camera or shifting a power button or a millimeter of extra/less space around an edge--that cases for iPhone N-1 that are rebranded as being for iPhone N-1 AND iPhone N tend to have problems.
I think it's a good concept and someone who has manufactured electronics before may have a better understanding of the processes involved than the average Kickstarter, but we'll have to wait and see.
Kind of Ironic The former CEO of Pebble designed his own Apple accessory after Apple was one of the reasons Pebble went under in the smart Watch industry. But you have to give him credit for trying to have some ingenuity with this.
The pebble filled a niche that Apple couldn't, a low cost smart watch with an always on screen. Apple probably didn't help, but I doubt Apple was the reason for its demise.
I was on my second replacement for my pebble watch and gave that to my son when I got my Apple watch.
So that is now 3 pebble watches that are not functioning - buttons give out or screen plays up.
They didn't have a device that lasted more than a year for me. But I know of a work colleague whos pebble is still going strong.
