Has anybody purchased any of these cases? I'd really like to see what they look like on the matter black 7 or 7 plus. I'm curious how the general frosted cases (without color) look on the matte black. It seems like the ones with color (black, blue, etc) mask the design of the phone, but if the frosted white makes the matte black phone look too much lighter in color, then I guess black is probably the way to go.

Also, I really hate having a lip on the front of the case - I like to feel the curve of the glass. Does anyone know if any of these cases have a lip? If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears!

Thanks!

The normal frosted makes a silver phone look naked. On a black phone, it makes it look a lot lighter. See if you can get a smoked frost or a grey frost one.

TOZO Case for iPhone 7 Plus, PP [0.35mm] Ultra-Thin / Slim [Perfect Fit] Thinnest Hard Protect Case Back Cover Bumper [Semi-transparent] Lightweight for iPhone 7 Plus 5.5 inch. [Matte black] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0I7CR9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_dUg7xbB9NCPWC

Forget the Peel or Caudabe, I've been using the Tozo since my 6S+ and it's been fantastic. Same quality as the other two, but much cheaper and there's no branding (unlike Caudabe). Cutouts were great and I have no major complaints.

The Apple logo is barely visible through the frosted grey matte finish. I wish it was more visible but I guess that's what happens with the darker color. If you were to get the silver finish then it would make your iPhone a lot lighter since you have the matte black. I just went with the frosted grey because it blends in more with my iPhone's original MB color.

There's no lip on the case so you'll be good on that front.

The elago origin in black on matte black phone. Best looking combo I think

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I'm liking the Tozo case - I think I'll order it today, and thinking I'll try my luck with the blue one (I think over my matte black iP7+, it may look like the iPhone 5's bluish black). So far I have the Orzly Flexislim (similar color to the matte black Tozo) and the Maxboost liquid slim. These cases are listed at 0.35 and 0.4mm, respectively, but neither seems as slim as the Caudabe Veil or Totalee Scarf I had for my iPhone 6, so I'm not sure I believe the specs. As for the Elago Origin, every pic I've seen shows a defined seam down the sides of the phone - not too polished looking - neither my iP6 Veil nor Scarf had that, but the Flexislim does.

I'll post pics of all 3 when I get the new case!

Great thread, Hope for more pictures and reviews... Its these cases i'm choosing from!

I like the look of the Elago case, but that logo looks so tacky to me.

With these ultra slim cases, is anyone else bothered by the protruding camera on the back of the phone? I've been using a slightly thicker case (Ringke Slim) which is just thick enough for the phone to lay flat on a table.

I don't really care if the phone lays flat - I care that the case si as thin as possible and adds grip. I don't even really care about scratches. I just find the matte black iPhone to be a bit slippery (just like all other non-jet black colors) and want a better grip. I also use a magnet mount in my car, and want a case that I can slide a magnetic piece of metal under.

I've always enjoyed these type of cases but the only downside for me is that they stretch out over time.

Not either of those brands, but I have this one on the way

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KTW0HM4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wont be here until Monday though. It seems to be the same thickness as the others, with no lip (I don't like them either) and with the gray it appears that you can still see the logo through the back. Will report back once I receive it.

I have that one currently on my phone - I think it was $5 pre-launch day. I like it but don't love it - it does have a lip. I hate that all of these manufacturers show mock-up images rather than the real thing. You really can't tell anything from the Orzly one.

Oh great! It doesnt look like a lip from the photos so hopefully I didn't just waste another $15 incl. shipping. It appears to come only to the very edge of the phone where the glass meets the aluminum!

Getting closer and closer to just going with a skin and utomic bumpies after all!

Do you have any pics of your phone with this case?

I know that if I bought those bumpies things, they'd last all of a day before I took them off and never used them again. I tried a couple different skins on my iP6 after first getting it a couple years ago. I tried Slick Wraps and Best Skins Ever. I hated how both handled the corners of the phone.

Honestly, I think I'd prefer just a skin that wraps around the sides and back and doesn't come up over/under the top and bottom. Just to add some grip.

Maybe we should all get together and start our own case/skin company, haha. It seems like half these companies just copy pre-existing ideas and don't try to innovate or improve anything.

I have the Peel. I like it a lot more than I thought I would. All the cutouts were very precise and it's ridiculously thin. So thin that I was worried about it prior to putting it on, and then it felt like a part of the phone.

Now if I can just get over the anxiety of using it so I can carry it out of the house instead of with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid (which offers a bit more protection with the lip).

This is how I want to react to a case! I'm going to see how I feel about the Tozo tomorrow, then might order the Peel if I don't love it. Based on photos I've seen, the Peel does look like exactly what I want - I just prefer ordering from Amazon and would rather spend $10 or less.

The Tozo which i received today has a protusion that rises up hugging and covers the protruding camera, so the lens never rests on the table

The peel appears to do something similar. I noticed that it seems to protect the lens as well.

The Tozo case + Turata 3D glass screen protector is an excellent minimalist combo for me. All of the edges are protected, the screen is fully protected, and the corners are protected (from scrapes, not drops). 3D touches and edge swipes work great.
Save your money and buy the Tozo case for under $10. All of these thin cases stretch over time and need to be replaced in every few months. This comes from personal experience with Caudabe & Spigen.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I will go take a look at those now.

I always buy entirely too many cases trying to find that perfect mix of style, minimalism, and protection.
