Have had two 15" 2.4GHz Macbook Pros (first one returned to retailer as battery would not hold charge, then purchased second one directly from Apple online). Both 9C81 matte screens. Both screens are perfect, especially once calibrated.

I just got my replacement MBP and it's got the 9c82 with slight yellowing on the bottom third

Ok, maybe I'm missing something, but when I go to Displays>Color>Open System Profile, it has blank spaces next to Device Manufacturer, Device Model and MD5 Signature. How do I find the display model number?

9c83. glossy.

I noticed the sharp shadow endings after a fellow forum member pointed them out but its definitely less noticeable if you apply a custom color profile. I got one off a thread here that really worked wonders for my screen.

Mine's a 9C83. :) The display looks great! My colleagues are drooling over the clarity and colors.

I have a 15" Glossy Penryn 2.4 250GB HD, 4GB RAM and the LCD is 9C81

ZERO problems with my sweet and sexy Macbook Pro:apple:.

hey guys,

it might look stupid, but how do you know if you got the yellow screen issue. I know the bottom will be like yellow but....is it like really noticeable.....should I take a picture and show you guys?? Thanks for any help regarding this issue :)

I have a stock 2.5G Penryn with a 9C83 display. The colors were very washed out until I used an ICC file I got form this site. Now the display is beautiful!

Which ICC file? I just got a 2.4GHz Penryn stock MPB on FRiday, and I thought hte color is a little washed out too on my screen

ooopsss...never mind...found the other thread....the contrast is definitely better now, but the background is a little dark...hmmmmm:rolleyes:

I have a new MBP with a 9C83 display. Although the colors look great - always looking to improve. I read on these forms about an "ICC" for "color profile" for this particular model (9C83), but I can't find the link.

Can someone please list where I can find the ICC for the 9C83. Thanks.

9C83 is my replacement, the white-yellow is hardly noticeable even when looking for it. Its better than the 3 9C81's i had.

My whites are crisp as can be on 9C81. No yellowing what so ever.

Did you get your screen replaced three times or your MBP?

First one i got had yellow bottom: 9C81, returned it. The apple store swapped out the MBP and the new one also was a 9c81 that was great hardly any yellowing and you couldnt see anything but i had to take it back because of that loud fan "buzz". after i returned the 2nd one, i BTOd a new MBP online and it was a 9C81 with the noticeable yellow and i just sent it back to get the screen replaced a week ago and the replacement screen is a 9C83 thats almost completely perfect, you can hardly notice the "white-yellow" at the bottom even when looking for it, so overall i am now very happy. My advice to you guys, if you have the yellow screen, dont swap your computer unless something else is wrong with it, instead tell them you want the LCD replaced because they are supposed to check the new LCD to see if it also has the yellow problem. If you completely swap out your MBP theres a chance that it will have the yellow and you'll have to keep doing it over and over so thats y i just had the screen replaced so the tech could check for yellow before sending it back to me.
