I am sick of seeing people argue in threads saying it's only $100 more to upgrade storage....
I thought people in this forum are smarter than this....
Where's a "The More You Know" gif when you need one?
Its actually Not a 64GB iPad Air 2 is only $499. Now if you want to be a Boss and flaunt your status symbol iPad Pro 9.7
its 32GB less but you get
-better battery life
-a crazy fast device A9X CPU which is faster than some Core i5's
-the best display on the market 500 nits brightest ever
- 25% better colors
- reduced glare
- Apple Pencil support
- smart keyboard
- 2GB DDR4 RAM
- Amazing Audio in a portable device
- The best WiFi
and more
So for me the Trade offs are worth it its actually a huge upgrade. I paid $529 thats for 32GB iPad Pro 9.7 that just $30 bucks more than what everyone loved a 16GB iPad Air 2 just a year ago for all these improvements and 16GB's more all for just $30 more. So I got all the improvments above and 16GB free for $30 bucks thats not even lunch at Cheesecake Factory.

Some of the items on your list are rather dubious at best. 2GB of RAM is actually not an upgrade at all over the Air 2. It should have 4GB.![]()
no...its 32GB less but you get
-better battery life
It isn't faster than any i5! Where on earth are you getting this?-a crazy fast device A9X CPU which is faster than some Core i5's
In what way is this the 'brightest ever'? And how is it 'the best display on the market' when there are AMOLED displays which are better in nearly every way?-the best display on the market 500 nits brightest ever
Right....whatever that means...- 25% better colors
- reduced glare
A bunch of accessories which cost hundreds of dollars...- Apple Pencil support
- smart keyboard
The same RAM as the nearly 2 year old Air 2...- 2GB DDR4 RAM
Well that's your opinion...it really isn't anything 'amazing'...- Amazing Audio in a portable device
In what way is it 'the best'? It's a minuscule improvement if it even actually exists in the first place...- The best WiFi
When you run out of things to say and just put 'and more'.and more

Everyone complains about the 2GB ram but nobody has explained what the extra 2GB gets you. All i've heard is the opposite, the extra 2GB is to push the 12.9's screen. I think the 2GB is a moot point.

It was $300 ($2.68/GB) to go from 16GB to 128GB (112GB, iPad 4 and Air), $200 ($1.78/GB) to go from 16GB to 128GB (112GB, iPad Air 2) and now it's $300 ($1.34/GB) to go from 32GB to 256GB (224GB, iPad Pro). Seems to be getting cheaper to me.
LPDDR4 RAM is up to twice as fast as the LPDDR3 RAM in the Air 2. So, yes, it's an upgrade. The number of GB is not the sole indication of upgrade or worth; computer chips are simply more complex than thatSome of the items on your list are rather dubious at best. 2GB of RAM is actually not an upgrade at all over the Air 2. It should have 4GB. 25% better colors? Quantify that. Smart Keyboard? OK. Amazing audio? I guess the speakers are an upgrade but...??? The best Wifi? The wifi in my Air 1 works perfectly awesome. reduced glare? Again - does real world use benefit from this? Crazy fast? Any later-model iPad is pretty fast. "and more". Like what? LOL
Just saying....![]()
Well, most people wouldn't...I'll take the flash over the extra ram any day. Finally an iPad worth taking photos on
Keep praising Apple and we could see another price increase for the iPad Pro 2 9.7" to $699

Bingo, enjoy despite the trollsWe are ... on my way out the door to pick up a spanking new 9.7" Space Grey, 128GB, WiFi with cellular iPad Pro complete with an Apple Pencil and a Charcoal Silicone case ... with tax thats $1,578 CDN.
So you can continue whining while I'm out - cause I'll be too busy setting up, when I return, to read anymore of your complaints.
Yeah, I know. However, do consider that back when NAND cost $0.50-1/GB, Apple was charging $3-6.25/GB on storage upgrades. And meanwhile SSD prices are going down also 1000GB for $283 (Evo 850) when it used to cost $500 just a year ago.
I've actually spent thousands of dollars over the years on Android and Windows tablets and smartphones trying to replace my iPhone and iPad. The Android and Windows stuff are sitting in a drawer somewhere while the iPhone and iPad gets used daily. So personally, value for money, the iPhone/iPad wins for me.If price is a concern there is always Windows and android. Let the rest of us blow our hard earned money and be happy.

While I agree this is better than the air 2 in about every way, but it doesn't make sense to raise the base price $100.
Every time a new ipad or iphone comes out the specs are always better across the board.
