Yeah, I know. However, do consider that back when NAND cost $0.50-1/GB, Apple was charging $3-6.25/GB on storage upgrades.

I've actually spent thousands of dollars over the years on Android and Windows tablets and smartphones trying to replace my iPhone and iPad. The Android and Windows stuff are sitting in a drawer somewhere while the iPhone and iPad gets used daily. So personally, value for money, the iPhone/iPad wins for me.
Did Apple ever have increased the price of the same model year afterward, or you're just talking out of your ass?

The Air 3 will be better than Air 2 and retain the price if Apple won't kill the line.

Willing to bet there won't be an Air 3

Most people won't even know how much RAM their iPad has, but they will notice they can take better low light photos. Outside of whiners here who want to justify not buying something, probably because they can't afford it in the first place, nobody cares. People buy Apple products to do what they want\need it to do specifically not for imaginary situations where they might need something it doesn't have.

If price is a concern there is always Windows and android. Let the rest of us blow our hard earned money and be happy.
iPad 'Pro'.

Enough said.

Yeah but just because the changed the name from Air to Pro shouldnt have increased the price. The naming convention went from ipad 4 to ipad air and the price didnt increase.

The ipad air 2 to ipad pro was less of a change or equal to as most of the others.

MRW You load pictures from your PRO camera and it rescales it to 4K.

I'm so confused by all the whining about the price. While packing up my iPad Air 1 for trade in, I found the receipt. Apparently I paid $799 for my 128gb wifi space grey iPad Air 1 on release day over two years ago. Today I bought a 128gb wifi space grey iPad Pro 9.7 with an MSRP of $749. Prices have actually gone down from two years ago...

You realise the price of SSDs in general have gone down by over half in the last 2 years...

What part of 'enough said' don't you understand?
2GB RAM =/ Pro

What does that even mean? I'm completely baffled by all the "it can't be a 'Pro' device without THIS feature" talk.

"Pro" is a marketing term. There's no specific checklist of features that a "professional" needs, because the definition of a "professional" is literally anyone who does a job for a living. A doctor is a professional. A teacher is a professional. A hair stylist is a professional. Any of these people could use an iPad in their professional and personal lives, but likely have drastically different needs.

no...

It isn't faster than any i5! Where on earth are you getting this?

In what way is this the 'brightest ever'? And how is it 'the best display on the market' when there are AMOLED displays which are better in nearly every way?

Right....whatever that means...

A bunch of accessories which cost hundreds of dollars...

The same RAM as the nearly 2 year old Air 2...

Well that's your opinion...it really isn't anything 'amazing'...

In what way is it 'the best'? It's a minuscule improvement if it even actually exists in the first place...

When you run out of things to say and just put 'and more'.

Actually I just checked out this site-

http://wccftech.com/apple-a9xipad-pro-benchmarks/

It looks like the A9X really does beat the Core M in the MacBook, and has similar scores to the i5 in the current MacBook Airs in these geekbench 3 tests. In the single core test it approaches the MacBook Pro scores- I didn't realize it was that powerful! Maybe the Pro moniker is appropriate after all. And take a gander at the offscreen gfx scores....

I remember I bought the first iPad 64GB WiFi+3G and it was little over $1000 give or take, a 256GB iPad Pro 9.7 WiFi+Cellular is roughly the same price, if you use an EDU discount its $20 off so, id say yes they've updated/replaced storage capacity in each price point, and it may cost the same but you get more in this current refresh then you did at the same price over the past few releases/years.
