I agree with you if one just needs a phone, to make and receive calls, send or receive a few text messages. No need for the speed from a service provider.
But if a providers signal can't be reached from time to time, they can't be depended on even if they are cheaper.

Agree, and that's why everyone needs to check for themselves where they live, work, etc. I am getting the same service at work, at home, and anywhere I have gone. Are the smaller MVNO's equal to the big carriers in every way? No they are not, but they provide a near similar service at drastic savings. I wasn't convinced until I tried it myself. At home and at work I'm on WIFI anyways. If I was a traveling salesperson I might be more careful. BTW, I can do more than make calls and a few texts. ;)

What is your basic cost of service each Month?

$35/ month. No taxes or fees added to that, $35 flat. 2.5 GB of data which is more than enough for me. Unlimited talk and text. Like I said, you have to look at your individual needs and see if you are getting value for what you are paying.

That,s a good deal, how do you get the no tax adder?

I'm on Verizon after switching from AT&T. I like the service, but I might look into Sprint and see if it is good enough as they have quite a bit cheaper plans.

I had Sprint for around 20 years till they got hard nosed about the $90 a Month cost and this was not for a phone.
so i switched then T Mobil hit them high cost other carriers with their lower cost and pay off contracts deals.
then Sprint got the picture as they lost customers and started giving people better pricing deals.
So i came back I rent my iPhone6 can buy it at end of contract for a small cost or just keep it or upgrade to a new phone. Cost of rent is $25 a Month Cost of service with no limits on data is $60+ tax's I also buy insurance on theft or breakage $13 a Month.
There are other plans at Sprint today but this plan works Ok for me.

I'm in LA and I've been with AT&T since before the first iPhone. I'm considering switching to Verizon, as AT&T LTE coverage is pretty bad in LA. Very very spotty. I would love some more insight into Verizon's. Which do you like better?

VOLTE and Simultaneous Data and Voice are important to me.
Hmm, I have to say AT&T loses signal more often than Verizon. Not to say it happens frequently with either carrier. I think they're pretty close in terms of coverage. Just that Verizon has a slight edge over AT&T.

As for Cricket being slower, the 8Mbps cap is actually quite acceptable for HD video streaming.

Yeah, I've tried T-Mobile and I know they don't have service everywhere I need it, I've looked at Sprint's coverage maps and it looks like they have service most everywhere I need it, and most importantly they seem to have a roaming agreement with the tiny local carrier where my fiancé is from which is a rural area where no one else has reliable service.

The one thing I'm wondering is how is the speed on the unlimited data plan? And also have you used it in any rural areas where it is on their extended network? I see it says you get the unlimited data when you are on the sprint network, but do you still get it when you are on one of their extended network partners? I would be tempted by that unlimited plan since it costs the same as what I'm paying on Verizon for a lot less data.

I have just used it in my city and i don't use the phone for any streaming video,so i can't give any real help to your questions.
I have a major Cox cable package at home TV a Phone line just for people I don't want to know my cell number also WiFi. So most of my online is done at home from computers or tablets on wiFi.

Why should anyone avoid Sprint? Their plans are as good as others and there signal is strong. Also they don't seem to have many problems with spamming call from unwanted sales jerks.

Simply because the coverage is really bad in my area, and I sent mine back the very next day because of it. That is why
It depends in what area you are in.

(Dunedin, Florida) Verizon/3GB data/$65.00 per month excluding taxes/fee's

As you post it depends where you are using the phone. So if Sprint did notget the coverage you needed it was best to switch.

One other question I have about Sprint that you may or may not be able to answer, do they have VOLTE yet so you can use data and voice at the same time?

Sorry have no idea. I am sure if you contact your local Sprint store or call them you can get correct answers.
I will tell you this Sprint wll really dig deeply into a persons credit history. Even as i had been with them 20 years before they ran me through a full credit history again. Even making me speak to someone in Kansas their home office. And i had never missed a credit card payment. This is just their policy if your taking a phone. As you dont pay up front with Sprint.

I'm on ATT at the moment but once I look to add my two daughters on the plan, I'll be moving to T-Mo given the price difference between ATT and T-Mo.

My wife has AT&T they reuse peoples old phone numbers after they quit, and she gets a lot of calls from people looking for others. And its been two years and it still is happening. Also she buys minutes and they screw her around making her call them and that is not simple as their service people are in Inda and other contries. Sprint has their service people in Kansas USA.

I'd have to say Verizon Wireless is the best. I get the best coverage & perfect LTE speeds. Can't complain.

Tried T-mobile, but it is getting congested in Boston. They added more customers and free streaming. Att in opposite is adding LTE band 30, CA, loosing customers :) and getting faster. I hope Att soon realizes that they are bleeding with customers and give us some better rates or perks.

I moved to T-mobile when they offered the 4 unlimited plans for 150. Was with AT&T for over 15 years and now my kid's are older they needed phones, AT&T didn't have anything close to that saving so I had to move. I use approximately 26 to 28 gb of data each month alone and the shared family plan AT&T was offering did not even come close. So far T-mobile has been good, haven't had any dead spot. Speed in most area for me has been faster than AT&T. I complained about only getting 1 bar at the house and T-mobile sent me a cellspot without any fee so I can't complain about their customer service. I now have full bar at home so a happy camper.
