Keeping my X. Better battery life and a better camera is nice but not a big enough difference to justify almost $1400 after tax for the 256g pro plus max bs naming. Nothing really substantial with any of the new products that were announced today IMHO. Definitely no game changers or gotta have items for me.

Yup no thanks Apple , and all y’all should do the same . 64gb for a “pro” iPhone is ridiculous, I don’t care about no wide lens. Next year every iPhone gonna be OLED and I’m waiting for the smaller iPhone that it’s coming

Not spending $500-$700 on a new camera. Not interested in a camera only upgrade. That’s all there really is.

The camera is the most important feature to me right now and even I won’t be upgrading from the iPhone X. There just isn’t enough value. Apple knows this since they are offering more for an iPhone X than an Xr. Also, the Xs is only $100 more as a trade in. Very telling!

next year will be better. USB C may actually make this a legit "pro" device - external storage like iPad, maybe?

I want a size upgrade to the Max, but 1.2k can wait for now. X is still really good.

Let’s see. The Samsung Note 10+ is cheaper and is a better phone than the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I feel getting ripped off when I go to the Apple store and see those prices. So I am skipping it and stick with the iPhone X.

Yesterday, took my (Nov 2017) X into Apple for what I thought was the screen separating from the frame but it turns out it was an expanding battery. Even though it had AC+ they replaced it for free. So now I have essentially a brand new 256gb X with a perfect screen and 100% battery health. Very hard to justify an upgrade now. AC+ expires in 2 months so I'll just hold on. If it can go another full year, then so be it. The phone is plenty fast for me and the camera is great.

Had this same issue 2 weeks ago, without Apple Care. Was afraid I was going to have to buy a brand new phone but instead it was replaced for free. Now that I have a brand new Apple reburb Iphone X I have no reason to upgrade this year.

I had the same issue with my 11/17 X, earlier this year. No AC+, but Apple still replaced the phone for free. They informed me that its a known issue.

A good chunk of the apps on my phone are photo/videography related and honestly, I rarely print my photos so the higher quality pics I'd potentially get from my more expensive cameras are becoming less and less of a need.

I'll wait to see the reviews of what the new camera system is capable of before making a decision although the promo video already has my hand twitching towards my wallet lol.

Otherwise, I'd probably just look for an annual upgrader with dispensable cash looking to sell their iPhone xs for "cheap" and make that "upgrade".

Getting the Pro, namely because my mom has an SE...and has the text HUGE so she can see without her reading glasses. So I'm getting a new one so I can pass on to her my X. Last year was the first time I had skipped an upgrade since the 5.

I could use more storage and I’m curious about the camera arrays, but I’m not super sold. The presentation felt pretty lackluster to me.

I went from 7+ to X and I’m missing the extra screen real estate. I managed to resist the XS Max, but the 11 Pro Max with buckets of extra battery life plus low-light photography is worth it to me. I’ll be handing my X on to a family member so the fact it is still going strong is also a positive to me.

I’m actually thinking of going back to Android.
Every time there’s a new iPhone coming up, after an update both my wife’s and my iPhones start playing up and this year is no different. I think apple do this on purpose to make an upgrade.
Android phones have come a long way and dare I say it, better.
I have an iMac and just yesterday I helped my daughter with her homework. Simple task, add photos to a Word document with a description. I have Word on my iMac but for the life of me, I couldn’t attach any photos yet I could to Pages. Absolute rubbish. The only reason I bought apple products was because I was fed up with buying anti-virus software which really slowed it down.
As you can guess, I’m fed up so if anyone can prove me wrong, please let me know.

i'll hold on to my X, the upgrades for XS and 11 are just not enticing for me

I'll need a revamp to the model in order for me to buy a new iphone.

But I am pretty sure, overtime the iOS 13 updates will artificially slow down my X and make it sluggish

The only thing that is tempting me, is the battery life. All the CPU/GPU/Camera talk doesn't matter that much. I got iOS 13.1b3 running and bugs aside, the X runs smooth as butter and the dual camera is more than capable for the vacation/daytrip/x-mas pictures. Sure the 11 Pro will take better pictures, but is the quality of the X so sucky that you need an upgrade? They're good enough for me, that's for sure.

I will say this, having a phone with an ultrawide camera is a game changer.

Agree! It's the major feature tempting me as love wide angle lens for travelling and suspect this will be better than my Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens for my DSLR which was a budget buy. I end up using my GoPro for interesting wide angle photos.

With the $400 trade-in which brings the phone cost to $599, that’s pretty tempting. And thinking of buying it outright. Which means I can still upgrade to the 12 next year, right? I do like the green color.

My X is great. Battery is suffering a little. I got the 256GB but thinking that was a mistake so will get 64GB next time.

Similar here. Battery life is generally great except when I take a lot of photos. So when travelling or away I can drain the battery pretty fast then need to rely on my portable charger. I also got the 256gb X and it has turned out to be overkill (currently using less than 50GB due to cloud storage )so I am veering towards a 64GB Green 11 Pro.

Yes if you buy outright you are free to buy a new model again whenever.

Getting the iPhone 11 Pro in that magnificent green color. I didn’t upgrade last year purposely so I could wait to pay off my launch day X and switch from AT&T to T-Mobile. AT&T is way too expensive now (even with a 20% discount) and service seems to be getting even worse. Might as well trade my X in and use that to get the Pro. The Max is way too big, I love the 5.8” screen size. I’ll make sure to get JUMP! added and upgrade again next year if the big redesign is coming in 2020.

As much as I'd like to have three cameras on my iPhone, it's not worth upgrading my 18 month old X. It's still pristine, has 97% battery capacity and works like a champ.

Next year perhaps.

Now, the 7 Plus I gave to my Mom might need an upgrade at some point. That's about the only way I'd buy a new phone anytime soon.

I am still on the fence. I went from a 7 plus to the X simply because I was so desperate for something different. I have no regrets, but I had planned on upgrading last year for the Max model. The XS was just too underwhelming for me to upgrade, so I waited, hoping that this year would at least bring some revision to the notch.

Cameras are a big part of my reason to upgrade, but the battery life is also compelling. Now there’s so much talk about a far more improved phone next year, I’m on the fence again. I do t want to get stuck in that “ waiting for the next best thing” loop. IMO , it’s hard to predict what Apple will do next year- “S year”? New design? 5G?

Having no phone payments for a year would be nice, considering how expensive they are now. I have never upgraded on S years, as I always preferred the retouch that the initial years got.

First world problems.....

I have an XS.
Surely the next big thing is 5G?
The only real difference is camera and faster. My XS is fast enough and the camera also fine.
I will wait until 5G is available albeit the 11S or 12. 5G will hopefully be more available then.

Those trade in amounts show that Apple knows they have a weak upgrade and are trying to do what they can to entice users to upgrade. The XS was not a reason to upgrade my X, and the XSS (11 Pro) isn’t either. Even with the “discount”.

I guess you can still do monthly payments if you want, but would need to pay it off before getting the 2020 model.
