I was thinking to stick with my X for another year, but the new camera sounds tempting and the battery upgrade sounds ridiculously good. I get that it's not gonna be 4-5 hours more in real life, but even 2-3 hours would be mind blowing at this point.
I have a full-frame censor camera, so I'm into photography. Computational photography has gotten to crazy levels noways and in many cases can compete or even outdoes crop-factor or full-frame censor cameras (especially when it comes to HDR processing). That ultra-wide angle lens should come in handy among some other upgrades (faster aperture on the telephoto, night mode, etc.).
The new green color looks interesting. I've been a Space Gray person for a while, so I might switch this time around.
I'm not sure about this Intel modem though. It was the main reason why I skipped the XS cycle: the Intel modem was significantly worse than the Qualcomm in the 8 Plus and X that I tested, and then the XS as well based on all the reviews.
It does sound like they're using a different newer version this time around, but it remains to be seen if Intel managed to improve their issues in low-signal areas.
I might just get it to test drive it for 2 weeks and see how it goes.

Definitely upgrading. The camera system seems like it's a massive upgrade over the X

The camera’s important to me. I’m going to wait for the camera reviews and if they confirm a massive upgrade, I’ll jump. Else, I’m very happy with the X and can stay on it years longer.

I am skipping again this year and sticking with the X. The original plan was to give that to my wife and sell her 7. Then I would buy the iPhone 11 Pro. After the keynote however, I was like "I just literally can't be bothered". It did nothing for me, and to be completely honest I find the camera module and matte back combo to be pretty ugly. Listening to Apple's keynote all I heard was carefully planned marketing blurb. This is not a 'pro' phone, it is a natural evolution of last years XS and the X before it. I would have had buyers remorse and felt like I had just thrown away over a thousand pounds.

I think next year will be upgrade time for me, I am expecting pretty big changes and I may even go for a max for the first time ever.

I still stand by my previous comments: If you still upgrade yearly since the X, regardless of how much disposable income you have, you are literally wasting money.

If you have any phone older than the X though then its a solid worthwhile upgrade.

I'm keeping my X for another year. I'm not giving up my Qualcomm chip for Intel garbage.
You realize this one is better than the one in the X or XS for that matter? It’s better than any Qualcomm?

It’s almost like it’s been a few years, they saw something that needed improvement, and did it. This is like someone saying Chevy is better than Ford because of a truck they owned from the 80s.

Tempted to get the 11 but i fear i'll hate the bezels and going back to LCD.
Most likely will get the Pro max which i also fear will be too big but when i upgraded from the 6 to the 7, i was so disappointed in what felt like having the same exact phone due to the size being the same.

I'll sell the pro max next year to help pay for the 12.

I was going to wait till next year, but this green colour is really growing on me haha. A longer lasting battery and night mode photos will be nice, just that sting of dropping money on a 256gb 11 pro. Thinking about it, I don't think I could go back to the LCD of the 11.

My X used from May 2018 is down to 88% battery :O, if I skip the 11 I'll just replace the battery.
