No, the percentage is already used by the OS to display the battery graphic representation of it and to determine the 20% and 10% marks.
No, unless you are obsessed with not using your phone much due to battery drain, I would recommend it.
If it is as described by the "leaks" then I'll most likely won't. I don't want or like a bigger screen. I think it is beyond idiotic.
That said, I will buy it if they offer the traditional 3.5" form factor.

I'm OCPD and need to see the percentage, I'm always turning it on when friends give me theirs to show them how to do stuff w/out them asking. The percentage tends to be pretty accurate; is great for mid-day battery check so you adjust your usage and make it last the time you need for the day before getting to a charger.
