I use the aux in method. I'd much rather have full control with the iPod's controls then very limited control with a head unit that takes over the iPod.
Has anyone ever used the Belkin Tunecast II FM Transmitter? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3622679
I was thinking about getting this for use with my iPod Shuffle. I think the colors would match the shuffle well, and I like the fact that you can choose any FM frequency.
I have one of these and I hate it. Even in rural areas it gets interference. And the audio quality stinks on any station lower than 103.1. I have almost thrown this thing out the window several times.
I don't like that it requires power. I don't like that it is awkward to use since it does not attach to the iPod somehow.
I am thinking of getting a new iTrip with the station tuning on the device. Anyone have any better luck with that one?
I have this FM transmitter and live in Dallas. I haven't had a problem one, it sounds not too much different from CD. I was skeptical when I got it, but I read some reviews and it seemed worth a shot.
i drive an 01 Volvo S40, and they do not support iPod integration for my model, unless i replace the headunit, which i don't want to do (i find after market stereos tacky) so i will have to wait until i upgrad ein about a year to an 06 or 07 S40
