It will never end, but at some point you probably will have to end it. I had to stop after my most recent purchase of a white Incase Slider. I'm done with the cases fiasco. Hopefully the next iPhone is a little bigger and I won't even need a case for it.

I ended up buying a sedio case. It works well but doesn't fit in the current docks i have (ihome, apple). I'm still waiting for a case that works as intended, fits in a dock and doesn't look like hot garbage.

Naked phone with stand

I bought a standard Apple bumper as it is a bit rubbery which meant that I can lean it against things for watching TV, FaceTime, etc. However I've now bought a cool phone stand which fits in my wallet, so I can revert my phone back to its true naked glory. I do have front and back screens just to fight the occasional bit of loose change and keys.

It's so hard to find the perfect case! Back when I had my 3GS I probably went through 5-6 cases in 16 months before settling on using my phone without one.

Now that I've stepped up to a 32gb 4S I'm trying to use the same case until it breaks. Cases can cost anywhere from a few dollars to almost $100 if you're buying those super fancy aluminum bumpers some people have shown off on the forums. I'm sure the some of case-obsessed could've spent more on accessories (skins, wraps, light mods, etc.) than the cost of their iPhone!

My InCase Bird's Nest case has held up since November, but it's starting to look rough around the edges! The OCD in me wants to replace it based on it's looks, but I'm doing my best to resist!

I have had my iPhone 4s for a little over two weeks and have already went through 7 cases...SEVEN. [...] Is anyone else in the same boat as me? [...]

I feel you. You can't walk into any store and see a case that you'll want to buy. They're all ugly. lol

I make my own and I do better.

This is as close as it gets IMO. I tried apple and other bumpers which stretched and discolored, the BookBook which was rediculous to use when on a call but is nice otherwise, the InCase snap case which discolored and didn't snap quite fully, the incipio feathers which scratch easily and the matte finishes also scratches off completely on the corners and the plastic snapped above the camera where it's really thin, the Pinlo Slice3 isn't bad but the Verizon version is ugly and doesn't look good on black or white iPhones- would look decent on a grey iPhone lol but also has no protection, the ElementCases Vapor Comps which are great except for the polycarbonate side piece which scratches easily and eventually breaks where it's really thin where you screw it in and it just feels and looks so cheap not to mention the volume rocker scratches up the volume buttons, also tried the Tiger Design Blade which looked absolutely sick but has reception issues when onlyoh having 1-2 bars and wifi is also killed, so, I have to say this case, the Vapor Pro Spectra is the only one where I haven't had any complaints and everything about it is original, the design is great, and the fit precisely perfect. Can't get any closer in my opinion.

The iPhone looks great.

So you want to protect it.

So you buy a case.

But when you put the phone in the case, it doesn't look as good.

So you remove the case.

And the iPhone looks great.

So you want to protect it......

Hahaha that seriously made me LOL. I think you've got it spot on. I've never realised I had this underlying problem making me want to buy a case every time like the OP until you pointed it out. It actually makes sense. This post should be nominated post of the year. :p

I don't want to even count how many cases I have. Let's just say I have a 13.3" macbook pro box that is full of cases... I am now sticking with naked until the next iphone. Hopefully it has some curves to it and isn't so slippery. I've never had a fear of dropping my phone until I got an iPhone 4. Beautiful design but horrible ergonomics.

Any cases you want to sell? Lol, I'd rather buy them used and find out I don't like them then full price.
