Perfect time for me to purchase previous Macbook Pro model?

Hi everyone, I am at the tipping point whether to buy the previous generation 15inch MBP or not, but for people who recently bought the previous gen. MBP, is your laptop relatively hot or over heat? I am concerning the heat issue.

I have visit apple store, and saw the new version of MBP, and MB, and the temperature feels quite normal. I think, only spend like 5min there, it was too many people.

Also the 8600GT graphic chip hold me back a little, if all the chips are faulty, no matter how many times they change your logic board, you are still stuck with the faulty chip?

I went for the previous MBP. $1,444.00 with an amazon rebate applied. considering this notebook was 2 grand at the apple store on monday, i feel i got a fantastic deal.
