Good question...I too considered it for the reason.

I have noticed improvements on my M1 MacBook MAX 2021 with 32GB RAM. The latest Tahoe version seemed to get better regarding M1 performance, but the first beta of macOS Golden Gate it is indeed promising. I hope it is not just "throwing a bone" to us M1 users and forget about us going forward and call it a day for M1.

When macOS Tahoe first official launch came, the graphics and performance was so poor I was a little grieved and kept going back and forth with macOS Sequoia and macOS Tahoe for almost a year (first time in my long run with macOS - usually just a few versions in the past until staying on the latest OS).

Look forward to the official launch in the fall.
This time I did not do a complete wipe and install, but just upgraded from macOS Tahoe to check apps (wasn’t planning on sticking with the beta), but decided to continue testing since so far it is good with no issues.

Runs super fast for me, WAY faster than on Tahoe. I am so inmpressed with the beta 1. I have been using it as a daily driver since the day after release and have found ZERO bugs so far.

Beta 2 should be out today and i will jump straight onto that.

M1 MacBook Pro 2021 just got a hit with beta 2 and Final Cut Pro with rendering and exporting. Now CPU and GPU hardly active.

I ALWAYS notice the performance hit. I am generally not a person who believes Apple purposely does this to make people upgrade.. but I have noticed this almost EVERY time a new OS comes out.

No reason for drastic lower performance with a version update.

Does this mean B2 is treating you well? I can't quite tell what youre saying

There are bugs and performance issues in a beta!? 😲
LOL, yes, but not that drastic performance hit drop from one version to another (at least in my beta testing days). MacOS Golden Gate is promising, but I am a little skeptical anyway about any improvements to M1.

I was hopeful with the first beta as I saw improvements, but with the second beta, back to the typical performance issues that seem intentional to “encourage” upgrading.

I know we are only in the second beta, so we will see how it goes.
