Good morning everyone,

I am looking to buy an Ipad Air 2 and I'm kind of boring with perfomance, I hate to see my handsets with lag, someone installed IOS 10 on ipad air 2 and noticed some loss of performance?

In iOS 9.3 the iPad Air 2 is very fast, is it worth going just for the iPad Pro 9.7?
My use will be email, browsing, Youtube and upload documents.
Ipad Air $ 2,299
Ipad Pro 9.7 $ 499

IMO, for a $200 difference I'd buy the newer one if I had no iPad. If I already had an iPad Air 2, I would't upgrade.
I live in Brazil and the difference is large that the dollar is high for us.

My use will be for basic same, maximum edition will be the notes iphone.

But if the Air Ipad 2 on IOS 10 is with lag, go to pro 9.7

iOS 10 hasn't been released. Developers have received beta and of course there is a loss of performance so far with all the features to be worked out and debugging on.

The Air 2 is still quite a powerhouse in multicore, so I would expect it to still perform pretty well for quite a while. It will run into a memory bottleneck sooner than a CPU bottleneck IMO and the 9.7 Pro will have that same 2gb RAM bottleneck.

Ipad Air 2 wont lag on IOS 10. It has 2 GB of RAM and 64 bit . faster than the iphone 6. I was disappointed when Apple launched Ipad Pro 9.7 . it has the same 2GB of RAM,so i see no reason for upgrade.

I have both and the upgrades are very nice. I really wish that Apple had just named it the Air 3 so we wouldn't have to hear about this "lack of RAM" in the 9.7 Pro, it's rather old and annoying.

As mentioned, beta software has yet to be optimized, so giving a performance measure now is not accurate. Having said that, iOS10 is currently running without any noticeable lag on an iPad Air 2.

Or they could have just included 4gb like the 12.9" Pro or not raised the entry level price by $100 and people wouldn't have complained ;)

Who pays msrp for Apple products now days?
I believe that when launching the new Ipad Pro 9.7, it will come with 4G and so will make the crowd move, I'm almost getting the iPad Air 2 and only change when the new Ipad comes with 3G or 4G memory.

I had a Ipad Air and gave very slowly and especially when going to open Spotlight on the main screen. I tested an Ipad Air 2 and is perfect and without any sluggishness, my fear is he like the iPad Air in IOS 10

If it's a major $ difference, I think the Air is the Best Buy. Unless there is something specific you need the pro for, like drawing and note taking, with a stylus.

I have iOS 10 beta installed on my Mini 2 and as far as performance goes if there is any drop it's imperceptible to me. Giving the Air 2 is more powerful I assume the same goes on that model.

As for iPP 9.7 vs Air 2. I recently upgraded when BB had it on sale last month to bring it back down to the "old iPad pricing." I had no intention of upgrading at the $100 inflated price. My main motivation was pencil support -- but for note taking not drawing. My artistic talents are nill.

I'd say if you want Pencil support go for the iPP 9.7. Otherwise stick with the Air 2. Also if you are going to go for the iPP 9.7, watch for sales @ BestBuy. If you have access to an .edu email you can sign up for the education coupons. Last month there was a $50 off coupon, this month $100. These stack with their regular sales.

This is what I did and got my open box 128gb IPP 9.7 for $560 before taxes. Saved almost $200

My use of the Ipad will be only for browsing the internet, watch videos on Youtube, upload the working documents and answer emails from work.
But not stand Lag and slowness in Ipad and Iphone

only get 100 dollars discount, how did you get $ 200?

IIRC it was $100 off right off the bat for the 9.7 at that time, then I added the $50 edu discount and then another $40 for it being open-box.
open box has not damaged the Ipad?, like scratches or wear marks?
for $ 50 I'd rather buy a new.

I live in Brazil and here the currency is Real and $ 100 for you is almost $ 400 for me

I was worried as well, but the one I got was brand new, the frosted wrap that covers the iPad was still intact. So I saved $40 because someone removed the outer plastic wrap.

The Pro 9.7 is slightly faster, but the best part about it over the Air 2 is the 4 speakers and that it doesn't vibrate when you turn up the volume.

one thing I can not stand is watching long videos on Ipad, I see on Youtube, I think that bothers be holding, even take him tired arm after a few hours if you're looking lying or sitting with him on her lap

I saw some videos on the internet and many say that for normal use such as browsing, e-mails and Youtube Pro is not worth the difference in money
this video shows the little difference between the Air iPad 2 and Pro 9.7, but does this difference will increase in IOS 10? there is doubt

Running iOS 10 beta 1 on my iPad Air2 - even for a first beta it runs very well. As well as iOS 9.3.3 beta did. I think you should save money and go for the Air 2. Apple Pencil is the only reason I see to upgrade to the Pro.

Apple Pencil isnt even a reason to upgrade imo. The 4 speakers (along with no more vibration) and the glare reduction are the main reasons to upgrade.
