Hi. I use my 5s as my hotspot and connect it wirelessly to my 8plus. Why everytime when my 8plus is off, it disconnected from the hotspot? is it normal?

By "off," if that means turned completely off, there is no longer a need for the connection, much less a way for the connection to remain.

Yeah it saves battery life on the 5s in your case.

It should also disconnect after a certain amount of time that the 8+ is asleep (not powered down).

Completely normal. It is done to preserve battery power on the device sending internet.

I’d really like the OP to define what he / she means by “off”.

1. Is the device turned off completely?
Or
2. The screen has been turned off.

The screen turn off.
Basically your phone goes to "sleep" which by default will kill your hotspot connection.

That will only happen if your devices are not actively using the Hotspot. Just being connected with no real data transfer will send devices to sleep mode.
