That lift to turn on action works pretty smoothly.
I have to shake my Pebble like I have a dead hand to get the LED to light up :p

I have the exact same problem with my pebble! Basically have to snap my arm to get it to light up. :D

Not sure if anyone's seen this yet but there's actually a short clip of what appears to be a an Edition Apple Watch. Pharrell posted it just a few hours ago.
Here's the link: https://instagram.com/p/1KIXumEWwO/

Posted shortly after he was seen on TV wearing it. Looks cool and love the animation "out in the wild". I say it is the 42mm and looks like it will look good on my wrist! The time approaches...

Do you notice the hesitation and extra effort to turn the watch far enough round so that he could actually see the watch face?

A more ergonomic design would have had the face rotated 30º so that you don't have to bring the arm horizontal. With the digital bezal at bottom right.

Bit late now though... :)

With all the fuss over whether or not the Edition collection was a wise decision, it's telling that the first watch seen worn by a non-Apple employee or reporter, has purchased the hotly contested version. Although, since he has it before the official release, he might not have had to buy it, simply show it off for publicity.

I was watching The Voice last night and I thought I had seen an Apple Watch on his wrist. Guess he really was, just couldn't tell which model it was.

Gold edition with rubber band but the question is is it rose gold because that's the only white band configuration for the edition model. Unless it's custom that is.

It's not a bit late - software is software and can be updated at any time. Like the mute switch on an iPad was originally a lock-orientation switch. That changed over the next 6 months after the iPad 1 was released.

I think that's actually GOOD. I was worried that running would cause the watch face to turn on and off constantly when moving my arms. Now I see that I need to twist the watch face towards me. This helps!

Yeah nothing would be worse than the face constantly lighting up at every slight movement or turn of the wrist. I like that the action must be deliberate. But it needs to work like it does in this video otherwise people will be incredibly annoyed.

Agreed, this was the best demonstration that Apple got this part right for me.

Do you think he's wearing 38mm model or 42mm?
..looks like 38?

It's 38mm definitely. His wrists are thin and it isn't even the width of his wrists.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Apple's idea is far better. Moreover, I'm not sure how you translate a video like this to 'hesitation and extra effort'. You do realize the hesitation and extra effort was to make it look more epic right? He could have simply raised his wrist whilst turning it toward him and it would have came on, but he purposefully did what he did because he was making a video which made it seem a lot more exciting than a boring raise and turn of the wrist...

Yeah.. He want you to guess what watch face he chose. It is a "ta da!" moment.
