Yes, 2 is limited, but my test motion sensor is in the hall by the front door, and 2 has worked well, day time full light, and in the night just a muted light to show the way to the toilet.
Having said that, I want to have motion sensors in other rooms, and more flexibility would certainly be beneficial.

I have 2, one in my home office and one in the bathroom. My house is packed with Hue lights, so I like to play around with several scenes during the day (yes also for the bathroom, showering in colored light or going to the bathroom with very dimmed blue light in the middle of the night ).
