Jailbreak for 9.3.5 is now out.

Semi-untethered.

My iPhone 4s is now jailbroken (again).

Can i do this with my iPad mini 1?

How did you go to 6.1.3?

Cool booter or something else? Did you need blobs?

I do not know if you can use it with and iPad Mini 1. I don't have any experience with that iPad so I can't say.

Your other questions I can answer.

I jailbroke 9.3.5 with PhoenixPWN and while looking for something else came across this:
Actual Link

In the description for the video there is a zip file for downloading. That has all the stuff you are going to need to do this. There'a readme file inside and it's got the instructions for the part after the jailbreak - so if you don't care to watch the video you can just follow that.

I did not need blobs. They are included in the IPSW that's within the ZIP file you download. I believe it's because 6.1.3 is still being signed for certain devices, but IDK. It worked in any case.

And it's not Coolbooter. It's a downgrade. Once you're back on 6.1.3 you're back on 6.1.3.

The directions use idevicerestore.

Gotcha

I dont think mini 1 can work that magic

I’m “extracting firmware” for 6.1.2 right now on cool booter, waiting to see if it works :D

So giddy!

I love the mixtape splash screen for Phoenix, haha

And cool booter asked if i want to JB! If i just re-boot into iOS 6 already jailbroken, ill be in heaven. Even with cool booter method

If anything good to have iOS 9 API’s even if its slow as heck on a MINI1

Ill probably only use MINI1 for iOS 6 but who knows, it was on 7.1 before but cool booter was broken and didn’t load on it

Well, glad to hear you have a method that's going to work for you.

Thinking about it now I'm not sure Coolbooter would have worked for me. My device is an 8GB 4s so probably not a whole lot of room for two versions of iOS.

Good luck and I hope it all goes smooth for you!

Oh yeah for sure

Thanks!

This MINI1 gets pretty close to zero use but i wont get rid of it, so if coolbooter works (re-JB’ing, and about to boot into it in a minute or two) i will be so giddy and happy

This is a relic piece revived
[doublepost=1502245801][/doublepost]I got it!

Amazing!

Already JB’en too!

Do u use 2 factor? Having difficulties entering the numeric password for step 2 on iOS 6,

Well…blast from 3 years ago!

Finally restored the iTunes backup from August 27, 2014. The day I lost my iOS 6 jailbreak on my then iPhone 5.

Now we see about the Cydia backup from that date…

Welcome back Audrey…

So this works fine with coolbooter?

I got excited when I read "jailbreak out" then I realized it was for iOS 9

There is always hope tho!

I think Phoenix jb indicates that

I just picked up a 4s for it and ios6 cool booter ($30 locally, no shattered glass, and works!)

And dusted off my mini1

did you install iOS 6 on iPad mini 1 through cool booter? does it work? I can't wait to be able to use that version on my old mini1

Yep and yep

Coolbooter is the only way to get iOS 6 on a mini 1

Actually downgrading to 6.1.3 or 8.4.1 can only be done on 4s or iPad 2

I know, unfortunately.
What version do you have installed? iOS 6.1.3?
Could you explain the steps to install cool booter from cydia?

I did 6.1.2 because I didn't know that jailbreaking built in was a pop up option when running through the prompts on coolbooter and never used the 6.1.3 jb before,

the repo is coolbooter.com you add it to Cydia, install cool Booter, and then it'll walk you through it

pretty easy, just don't let your device go to sleep or the battery die,

I want to buy some 4S due to downgrade, I just want to ask if it depends on which version of iOS was purchased? Will it be possible to download the iPhone in a lower version, for example, bought in 2014, which has already been installed iOS7 instead of iOS6 installed, further depends on the capacity of iPhone? I have read about the 8GB version of the iP4S downgrade that can not be done, is it true? Thank you and sorry for my English

You just need to be on a version of iOS that is jailbreakable. You can go from there.

iOS 7 has a perpetual jailbreak available.

Yes, of course, I know that. I thought it would be that if the iPhone had already been sold with iOS 7 or 8 of the factory, and now it is 9.3.5, whether the downgrade would still be possible even though the factory was never in iOS 6 or 5...Thanks

Ahhhh, I remember when I had bought the iPhone 4 about a month before the 4s came out. I wasn't familiar with Apple's phone upgrade cycle then and didn't know any better. I could have just about kicked myself when I recognized the pattern shortly after! D'oh!

I really do think 2011-2012 were the iPhone's heydays, honestly. During this time period, it seemed like Apple had gotten everything just about right: the design was truly one to behold, the ecosystem had definitely matured, and iOS itself was buttery smooth and (I think) less bug prone than current releases. All of this combined reminds me of a certain charm I think Apple had in those days -- a charm that just... just isn't there anymore. I can't exactly describe it, but I think most of you kinda get what I'm talking about.

The nostalgia led me to downgrade my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 to 6.1.3. The shocking part? I've actually been using, or have attempted to use, both devices more than my current gen iDevices. Especially the iPad 2. It's almost mind boggling to think this six year old tablet was once as fast as my iPad Pro. o_O

But I haven't stopped there. In an attempt to experience the phone I should have gotten in the first place, I went ahead and ordered an iPhone 4s from eBay, and I fully intend on downgrading it to 6.1.3. Gonna try to use it as my daily driver for awhile in conjunction with my iPad 2. I just really wanna go back to 2011-12 and experience that old Apple charm, just one last time.

Didn't mean to get sappy, heh, but the point still stands. :)
