I take meds for OCD.. That being said, I would not return my phone for that scratch.. It's little, I'd let it go . Is there any way we can see a pic of the yellow tint on your screen?? Your phone is gonna get scratched.. That's life but a yellowish screen.. I would have to see it.
 
Okay. I know many of you will crucify me for being so petty and uptight. But that's why I'm posting this, so you guys can meet the fact in my head that I shouldn't be upset about this.

Anyways. I was wiping my brand new phone down before putting it in a case when I realized there is a scratch on the lightening port adapter. I know. A normal person wouldn't be able to see it but now that I do know it's there. It's definitely bothersome.

What do you guys think? Is this a negligible issue that I need to get over? Would you guys just live with it on a brand new phone?View attachment 501284

Also, there seems to be no stock, and I prefer not to settle for a white box replacement in fear I will be getting a worse "reject" phone.

When you return a phone for a defect, you don't get a "brand new in sealed retail box" replacement. You get a refurbished replacement - which could be worse than yours if this scratch is the only problem.

If you're that OCD about that tiny scratch, then you are someone who will put a case on your phone. Which means you won't see it. I'm reasonably OCD about similar things, but that scratch is so tiny, the only reason you see it is because you know it's there. And the first time you plug in the Lightning plug wrong, you'll make another scratch just the same.


That said, Apple is famous for "over the top" customer support when it comes to visual defects, so you might get them to replace it over that. But don't expect them to. That is so minor, it's not "functionality" problem, that I would NOT expect them to replace it over that.
 
I think the OP is more concerned with the yellow screen than the scratch. At least to me, thats how it reads.

Even Apple who poses as a premier manufacture charging premier prices has a tough time living up to the expectations they plant in buyers minds. Their products are very nice but don't live up to the hype that fattens Apple's cash cow.

I buy lots of new Apple laptops desktops and other gear. About 75% of it comes out of the box looking new and undamaged, the others emerge with scratches that are far larger than yours.

Here's my very successful solution, I have everything shipped to the Apple store for pickup.

Two weeks ago I arrived to pickup my new MBA, I unpacked it as my sales rep looked on. He was agast at the five 3 " long, deep scratches on the lid. Something that should never have been shipped. By having that observed before I took it home eliminated any chance of Apple blaming me. Thus I had an additional three week wait and two charges on my credit card all because Apple is sloppy, fails to do their job and gets away with it because they can.

It's a good company, but erratic and unpredictable. The example above is but one of many.
 
If you are the type of person anal enough to return 5 iPads I doubt you can live with it.

5 iPads? Isn't there some kind of rule that Apple sets just for their obsessive compulsive customers?
 
If you're not happy, return it. Personally it wouldn't bother me unless it's worse in real life than in your photo, but it's ultimately you that has to be happy with the expensive purchase.

As for some of the comments, what on earth do you guys do to your iPhones whilst charging to causing scratches near the Lightning port? I've never noticed any scratches here.
