I think what OP was thinking is that smartphone is getting way too much attention and being touted -- albeit unfairly -- as a future device that can do everything.

That's what these companies want you to believe and general mass are following their lead.

We all know that you still need horse to get real work done.(MBP )

I for one am happy to see the progress and direction the mobile phones are taking. I don't need a phone for a replacement, it's sure nice to have the extra power to handle the tasks that you throw at it though.
