Such a shame that Apple was put on pressure to actually make a bigger iPhone. It's not a bloody iPad, it should be an iPhone (the Phone), not the tablet that Samsung is making in 100 different shapes.

I suppose people will get used to it, but......

Yes, I'm currently using a phone with a 4.7" screen. I don't want my phone to get larger with the same size screen, I want it smaller.

This 4.7 inch is smallest android phone. You haven't seen the whole but a front cover.

The Case is to big. Boring Desing and too many space was lost for home button.

It's a larger iPhone 5S. No news here.
They should get rid of the top and bottom portions. Too much wasted space.

ultra-thin bezel means very very fragile for side-impacts, you wouldn't want a phone like that, really.

auto layout constraints are a headache to implement.

Android developers have been doing it for years. It's not always pretty.

But that bezel doesn't seem any thinner than before...

If you look closely you will see that the women's thumb reaches a length the same height on the 5S that is equal to the height of the top part of the screen on the 6, suggesting that 1 handed use could still be possible.

I hate all of you who want a bigger iPhone. Apple is just giving the customer what it wants and it seems everyone wants a bigger phone these days and I hate you all. I like being able to put mine in my pocket. You all can suck it! Suck it hard!

I agree that they should be smaller but it is not wasted space. I'm sure there are many needed components in those spaces, it's not like it's empty underneath there.

TouchID is going to force the Home button to remain the same size for a little while. Hard to get a good fingerprint with a smaller area.

damn look at that wasted area on the top and bottom ... it could easily fit a 5.0 screen and keep the size

'This many'? As of this fall, if rumors are correct, we'll have:

- iPhone 5C/5S resolution (1136 x 640)
- iPhone 6 4.7" (resolution still unknown, hopefully as rumoured 1920 x 1080) [also rumoured: 1600 x 900]
- iPhone 6 5.5" (resolution still unknown, hopefully as rumoured 2560 x 1440) [also rumoured: 1920 x 1080]

So, three resolutions - that's very much do-able. All three have the same 16:9 aspect ratio.
When the iPhone 4S was introduced, developers also had to take care of three resolutions - with two different aspect ratios!
