TOO chromey!! My white 3GS developed cracks near the dock connector that are spreading up the back of the case. (always had this in the iskin case--never been dropped.) There is nothing more ugly than cracks on a white case that are now filled with dirt/dust. Would never get the white again.

I'm with you. I do NOT like the looks of this phone at all! It looks like a cheap knockoff to me. The 3G and 3Gs look so much more clean and elegant. I'm hoping the final one looks nothing like these!

I know it is personal choice but I really don't see how people can look at the 3g/s with it's chrome and shiny plastic back then at this glass and aluminum phone and say IT looks cheap. Of course a lot (prob you too) said the 3g was ugly and cheap looking next to the first gen. Fickle people are funny!
If you go back and look before the 3g came out a lot of the posts mirror the ones we are seeing now.... I suspect the same will be said for the next change in design as well..... only time will tell.
Now I wouldn't be apposed to this except for the reception issues with such a design. Plus to me the color with white bottom doesn't look good at all. I do however like the way the first gen feels in the hand compared to 3g/s but it's still "slippery". This new design with it's flat sides will be much easier to hold and feel better in the hand IMHO.

My Blackberry Storm 2 has a metal back and it has excellent wireless reception. Don't get me wrong, my Dingleberry is a work issued phone and I would much rather have an iPhone. I'm just saying, metal backs do not preclude good reception.
You're really intent on fixing what everyone says aren't you? I didn't say anything about previous Apple products. I just said the look of the white iPhone sucks. And yeah, that's my opinion - I guess you figured that out.

That iPhone protective cover is so fake... made surely by a 3D AutoCad program. I used them, I know what I'm talking about.
I read about a guy that said he saw the new (hidden) iPhone commercial poster in a Verizon store (maybe a staff member) and said it's this one that's in the Youtube link below... IF it's true, I don't know but here's the supposed-to-be iPhone. I hope it's the surprise-to-be new iPhone. Jobs said there would be surprises after all. In any case, do you really think a company like Apple would give the TRUE design to tech people for trial propose? I am sure NOT!

I never said it was the real one. I posted this to remind people that a concept is a concept, even in real models used for TESTING.
I wonder what people here and other forums will have in their mind when the REAL and final design will appear in Steve Jobs hand.
I personally believe the iPhone's final design will resemble more to the video I linked than that ugly and plain Sony-Ericson/LG design. That was basically my point.
That Gizmodo phone was labeled as a DVT (Design Verification Test). This is not a concept. This is the last step before Production.
